Come on Rodders, put the neck on the line lad!

Roscommon
Kildare
Tyrone
Clare
Dublin
Kerry
Monaghan

All look like banker material but I'm not sure if I'd be risking too much. For a bit of value I like Longford at home.

Rumors floating about the Imperial over Christmas that Ray Cullivan is leaving Ballyhaise. Any truth in that, does anyone know? BallyhaiseMan?

The Imperial ya know! Heard them myself and I wasn't near the Imperial. Lavey apparently. I've been told it's all BS.

What's the word on Dermot Mc Cabe getting the new full-time paid job as Director of football in Cavan? Best man for the job? What is the job description?

Any opinions on the Lexus tomorrow?
A few horses putting their Championship credentials on the line. Sir Des Champs was being talked about for the Gold Cup even before Cheltenham in March. Both him and Flemenstar looked impressive in the John Durkan a few weeks back. Flemenstar had a run under his belt already that day and his fitness probably showed. It is interesting that although Flemenstar is favourite for tomorrows race Sir Des Champs is still ahead of him in the betting for the Gold Cup in March. The Fat Controller :D brings Tidal Bay over also and on his best form he would be a big threat.
Most people would love to see Peter Casey's success story continue but by this time tomorrow I have a feeling the big boys (Mullins and O Leary) will be laughing.

I know fcuk all about GGs but Ruby's a cocky hoor.

Obviously racism is a big thing, so is somebody abusing a club player about having a family member having disabilities or a family member being ill personal stuff like that too. Heard that stuff before too, but the player who it was directed too let it moved on..
Because its racism is a whole big thing and only it should count. Gaa are trying to copy the premier league with the whole suarez , john terry etc.
I don't know if that player from killinere was looked at on video evidence, they looked cleary at the incident of the Lacken player and came up with nothing. Clattenburg the ref was getting dogs abuse and it was later revealed he never said any racist remarks.

Very dangerous thing to accuse somebody of something without full evidence.

I don't get what you mean here Rodney? How are the GAA trying to copy the Premier League?

If the Cootehill player made a complaint and Cootehill followed it up it would obviously have to be fully investigated. However  it has to be said that the use of video evidence is a waste of time. It's not like Sky cameras where they have up close shots. It basically was one players word (and maybe a few witnesses) against another players word.

We should always presume innocence until proven otherwise and I don't know the details of this case but I know if I was the Lacken player and I was innocent I wouldn't be a happy bunny to put it mildly.

Cornafean back in the 30s and 40's supplied a list of great players and legends to All- Ireland winning Cavan teams while at the same time dominating club football. Cornafean lead the way with 20 Senior titles. The last one in 1956. Sadly the Reds have been stuck at Junior level for too long now.
Cavan Gaels since formation have been the most successful club team in Cavan, dominating over the past 14 years especially. They hold 12 Senior titles. They have supplied some outstanding footballers to Cavan teams down through the years also.
Cavan Slashers before the Gaels, were the dominant club team in Cavan in the early part of the century winning 10 Senior titles.
Mullahoran ,as is the character of the club, have nearly always been there or there abouts and have also supplied Cavan teams with legends on All-Ireland winning teams. 90% of successful Cavan teams down through the years would have had at least one Mullahoran man on them. They sit in joint second with Cavan Gaels with 12 Senior titles.
Crosserlough produced arguably the greatest club team Cavan has ever seen with the famous Seven in-a Row team from 1966 to 1972. They hold 9 Senior ttiles.
Kingscourt, with 10 titles and Gowna with 7, during the 80's, 90's and 00's supplied some of the finest and toughest players Cavan has produced in a long time while also dominating club football for certain periods.

Superb stuff. Great to see St Pats back as a force to be reckoned with. Delighted for Finbar and Andy who have done great work with the lads but also Gerry Gunn. He came into the school during my time and was always an absolute gentleman and has a great way with young lads. And who could forget Fr. Kevin from Mullahoran. I'm still laughing at that run across the field. Brilliant.

Enda Bolger without a runner in the Cross Country Chase tomorrow? Must be the first time in a decade or more and sad to see IMO.

General discussion / Re: The Children Referendum
November 08, 2012, 03:11:25 PM
I attended a Q and A in my college during the week on this referendum. There were 2 speakers, 1 from the Childrens Rights Alliance and the other from Spunout.ie. Both advocated a 'Yes' vote.  ??? It's a Teacher training college so it didn't surprise me but the fact that it is a state institution I was slightly disappointed that the No side was not represented.

A few points I took from it. A few of us made the point about the State's record regarding child protection in the past and why should the State be trusted with more powers. Their response was that in most of those cases such as the Kilkenny or Roscommon cases the State's hands were tied by existing legislation whereby they couldn't intervene as much as they wanted.

To back up Billy Boots point, both speakers emphasised that this referendum if passed is only a step in the right direction towards fully protecting children and thatfuture legislation could sort out the difficulties if this was passed.

This election was won on the Hispanic/ Black & female vote, how are the Republicans ever going to be able to attract that part of the electorate.

The right wing evangelical mainly white male vote will no longer win elections. So what do they do?

There was a lady on who had worked for the Republican party and was still a member and she said they have to lose the racists from within the party if they stand any chance of bouncing back. That is one of their own calling themselves racist, hard to see where they go.

Sure most of the KKK called themselves Democrats. How things change.
