Lee Keegan only 5'11. It not the size of the man in the fight, its the size of the fight in the man.

Lee Keegan has natural power and speed. We have plenty of good footballers with very good skills but are lacking the natural physicality needed for today's game.

I didn't say they aren't just think its in poor taste.

I never really associated cry babys with GAA - that was always more a soccer thing where I came from!

Is it in poor taste to try and stop having one of your players sent off for a sending off offence?

Marc o'Sé and Sean Kavanagh clash in All Ireland intermediate semifinal

https://youtu.be/jT1WneD6AXw

Thought Cavanagh rose above it fairly well, he's well used to the special attention he's got from Kerry through the years.

Glad to see Moy progress to the final on behalf of the county.

However being a Tyrone man I have to say the way Cavanagh went crying to the linesman was a bit much for my liking. That has been the reason Moy have not been the most liked club within Tyrone at times.

Granted their Tyrone players did come in for abuse in the club game (like others) but the constant crying to refs from the Cavanaghs has ryled many a team in Tyrone.

I don't think O'Se was trying to get him sent off and if I seen what Cavanagh was at I would expect one of my own to react the same way. Let the officials do their job.

And to add the insult Cavanaghs patronising interview afterwards is pure puke - I'd say the O'Ses would give you a fairer view off the incident and prob say he can piss off instead of all the cliches!

Are players not allowed to point out an indiscretion to the match officials?

Think I read somewhere that 2 of mayo's best defenders are only 5'10 so not exactly giants. But crucially they have a mental aggression that more than makes up for lack of size. But then their manager gives them they freedom they need to do their thing.

Higgins and Boyle presumably. Higgins has or did have pace to burn and will down as one of the best defenders of his era. Boyle is small but a very hardy and tough competitors.

I think the issue is that those lads are naturally powerful whereas our lads just look blown up. I think it's a reaction to us trying to over-compensate for not having enough natural big men in our side.

and if u watch mayo, u dont see them pump high ball into andy moran, alway threaded passes just at the right height for him to come onto. this doesnt happen by chance, its worked on tirelessly at training with mc entee from crossmaglen showing them how to get it right. how much work are we doing on this aspect of our game at training?

Mayo are a very physically imposing side though.

Looking at the profiles in the match programme last year for the semi-final with Dublin, most of our players were a stone and a half lighter and a couple of inches shorter than their Dublin counterparts. We lack that natural size and I think some of our lads look like they're blown up and overcompensating for it.

bomber, winter football seems to suit them alright when it comes to mc kenna cups.

I don't think the heavy ground really suits our players.

I'd worry about our physicality this year. We've lost Sean Cavanagh and Justy now and bar Colm Cavanagh and McNulty who I don't think is up to it, we are really lacking players with a bit of presence. When you compare the Tyrone team against the likes of Mayo, Dublin, Kerry and even Donegal we are severely lacking physically.

All the same, I don't think winter football has ever really suited Tyrone.

I don't think the GAA was ever radical or republican, can't remember it ever doing too much for northern counties through the troubles. As RRHF said, most GAA clubs mirror their community but the GAA as a whole has never been radical or republican.

It will be interesting to see if Donegal can keep this up into the summer.

We all know what happened last year after an impressive league campaign. They are a very physically imposing side though particularly when they get the likes of McGee, Murphy, McGrath and McGlynn back. Thought the no.2 was very impressive for them.

From listening to the radio it appears our two common foes continue to cause us the biggest problems Profligacy from open play and free kicks.

Really bad result that already has us in danger of being in a relegation scrap considering our game next weekend.

Can anyone give us a run down on our tactics, did we leave 2 or 3 upfront?

The weather conditions did seem to be quite horrendous for shooting.

In the space of 5 months Tyrone have gone from being the side who were going to halt the Dublin juggernaut to a team likely to be fighting off relegation from division one. Rather than blaming Harte for setting up a defensive gameplan maybe they simply don't have good enough players to play a more attacking brand of football.

I would say there is an element of truth in that, we have plenty of skilled footballers but we don't have a top inside forward who can win all types of ball and finish. Guys like McCurry, O'Neill, Brennan and Bradley are all skilled footballers but they simply don't have that physical presence you need nowadays to survive inside.

done little? comes on again today with 4 mins to go. hardly much time to make an impact.

Yes, done little.

I'd rather McHugh gets a chance than Brennan, Brennan doesn't offer anything McCurry, Bradley etc don't.
Have u seen mchugh play. U seem adamant he should be on

He's the only inside forward we have who has a bit of presence, he's 6ft1 so therefore he offers something the other forwards do not. Brennan, McCurry, McAliksey, O'Neill and Bradley are all too small for the modern game to play inside.

Colly cav is key to Tyrone. Interesting that the radio said Tyrone were going man to man. If it wasn't clear before it probably won't be now. There is a reason for our defensive game plan
What is that reason ?
Are you saying the panel of players Tyrone have aren't good enough in div 1 ?

I think our full back line is very weak and needs the protection.

Every serious team protects their full back line. Some do it more intelligently than others

Some full back lines need a lot less protection than others.

Bomber throw the shackles off it's only the league
Tyrone will rack up big against the likes of Antrim and Cavan but not the big teams
Go out and play football and not that muck

There is no mandate for Tyrone to entertain neutrals. As a Tyrone fan, the result is what matters. If we don't rack up against the big teams then it's as much a case of a lack of quality than it is of the tactics we employ. I want Tyrone to play the type of football that enables us to be competitive and successful, not for what endears the neutrals.
