Dublin will win Leinster next year.

As for football?

Every year we go through this procedure of trying to make new rules.  No matter what new rule you make, other than when a player receives the ball he kicks it after taking five steps or less, football will never be any good. I have got to the stage where I will only watch hurling matches, I wouldn't watch Kerry and Dublin if they were playing in my back garden.
Hurling will never be any good. I have gotten to the stage where I will only watch football matches, I wouldn't watch Kilkenny if they were playing down the lane.

Try watching a hurling match first and then a football match straight after... ye won,t see half time in the football zzzzzzzzz :P
I never see half time in Hurling matches anyway, I stop watch after 20 minutes when Kilkenny are leading by 11 points.

  • 4 points for a goal has to the way forward
  • the advantage rule seems to make sense
  • square ball was impossible to police so has to go
  • the mark - if it's for kickouts only that's grand, I wouldn't want it thoughout the game though.

Rubbish, 2 quick fire goals and a team are out of site. Pack the defence and see the game off, most negative strategy you could take.
Also say a team are down by 2 with 3 mins to go. Score a goal, pack the defence, game over. no time for the other team to get the required 2 points and no way of getting the goal.

Is this McCusker's first involvement with any tyrone panel or has he played McKenna before? Seems like an odd move if the stories i heard were true. It will be very interesting to see how he plays for Tyrone. Harte picked well too but not all of those lads will be around come june.

mannions goal against corofin was quality

Needs his arse kicked up between his shoulders for the celebration.

He related to Drogba or something?

give the lad a break was only 14/15 at the time
Ack i dont really mean it but its just something i dont like to see, it looks really gawdy, cocky and cheap.

Hopefully he's grown out of it. Good goal as well.

Why do the GAA persist with experimenting new rules at the highest level? Most other sports try out their new ideas at underage or low level competitions, and then if they seem to work out alright give them a run at higher levels. Its no wonder many teams and supporters treat the league with such contempt, when the rules makers seem to view it a testing ground for their latest wacky ideas.

True, and given that 90% of the rules being tested will never make it into the book, it does make a b@lls of the thing. You'd imagine refs would be pretty pissed with stuff like this, i mean more responsibility and rules to enforce without being given time to be them in.

The mark rule is the biggest load of crap, We'll see John McConville and Colin Holmes line out at FF next year. Look at Aussie rules for Christ sake, Your man Barry Hall was a All Austrailian just for having a chest the size of a landrover bonnet.

What a ridiculous attempt to tie Mickey Harte to these awful cases of sexual abuse, please focus on the perpetrators by all means. To me this is an attempt to smear Mickey.

What will it take to get these people to stop buying this rag?

Buckie??

Kearney lapped up everything that was thrown at him. He has a real chance to establish himself as the best full back in the world with Byrne out. In fairness I think he is better than Byrne anyway but the next few months will confirm this.

He's a poorer attacker than Byrne and scores alot less tries. As much as I want Kearny to be the best full back in the world I dont think he is as good as everyone makes out.

Byrne is a better attacker but Kearney is as good a defender and there is no one better under the high ball which is sadly a huge part of today's game. Kearney is also 5 or 6 years younger.

Byrne is noticeably a much better attacker than Kearney, much the same standard of defender, similar kicking lengths and only slightly less capable under the high ball compared to Kearney. It would not be considered a weak point in his repetoire. Overall (and i have absolutely no love for the Welsh) i would rate Byrne higher, but that's not to say Kearney cant make good on his promise. Kearney is also hamstrung by Kidneys tactics. Payne or Hurley were not attacking FB's and Kidney is shaping Kearney the same.

Don't really see how this is a major point. Yes it gives him time to develop into the worlds FB but doesnt aid the argument that now he is a better player. Agreed scoring alot less tries is a poor argument against Kearny but he is not as threatening an broken field runner as Byrne or Muiliana. Comparatively his open field running is probably not much higher a quality than Daiman Traille. He just looks better than him because he runs more porpuseful lines but in terms of outcome of these runs both would produce a very similar field position.
