Looks like you were both doing that research at the same time. Great work though I have to admit I wouldn't get a lot of them.

No research required. All from memory. Took about 10 minutes to type out though....

Great win for Mayo hurlers today - not a result that was expected. Think they now play Carlow in the semi-final. Would winning the Christy Ring Cup be a bad thing - the hidings that they'd get next year? I'd presume so. But hard to see them being good enough for Carlow or Down.

It was hard to see them being good enough for Westmeath, Kildare this year and Carlow last year, but this team are able for it. Westmeath lost to Wexford by four points and drew with Antrim this year. Mayo beat Westmeath by 0-11. I don't think they would be that far out of their depth if they won the CR Cup. No further out of their depth than whichever team does actually win it. However, your views would be similar to some of our CB officers who wouldn't like the hastle of getting involved in a McCarthy Cup campaign. Great to see Keith Higgins choosing the hurlers this weekend, and also Cathal Freeman coming on and scoring 0-5 from play. Two brilliant dual stars of the GAA.

Mayo play Down now on Saturday 6th June. Good crowd expected to travel to this game from Mayo, as was there last Saturday. Will you be going R&G sniper?

Smart punters made a killing on the Mayo-Westmeath game last weekend. Mayo were 9/2, and many people in the know had a good few euro on them. they wont be as short a price this weekend. The element of surprise is now gone.

Lets face it. The Junior team is just thrown together on the evening and hope for the best. The opening two training sessions had 7 players and 11 players - even though over 30 were invited. Only 19 players showed up for the game in Carrick. Billy Fitz was thinking about having to tog out himself with 15 minutes to throw-in. The standard is much lower than U21. I dont know why the GAA persist with this competition. Galway pulled out a few years ago and no-one even noticed. Fermanagh played in Connacht this year and got flaked by leitrim in the preliminary round.

It seems that this competition could be forgotten about - and who would even notice it gone...

There are six adult hurling clubs in Mayo. Only four clubs were represented on the team against Westmeath. There is just Senior league and senior championship (10 games per year). There is no junior in Mayo. Even still, our county board struggle to get the competitions finished. I dont know what would happen if another club came along. About 7 players on the Mayo hurling team also play football.

The New York game is a pointless exercise, and the last thing Keith wants to do is get back on a plane after spending the past six months travelling. It's funny how JOM makes it sound like he RELEASED Keith to play the hurling tie. He had no choice in the matter as Keith had informed the hurlers that he was with them all the way before he ever returned from Oz.

get the full whack:

helmet, gloves on both hands, shinguards, chest armour...

Dont forget the sports cup either - incase you get one in the you know wheres. Also, a gumshield incase anything comes through the faceguard...

Seriously, I wouldnt like to see uniformity in helmets. It would take away the individualism. Lads would have to have different helmets for club, county and college/school then and that just wont happen..

Since when did Keith Higgins start kicking with his left foot? He can barely kick with his stronger right foot. Never seen him attempting a left footed kick
