How do the qualifiers work now ?
I assume they are basically capped to 8 teams because the powers that be are assuming there will be 8 division 1 or 2 teams in the 4 provincial finals.
Does this mean the qualifiers can't begin until after the all the provincial semi finals are completed ?
Could a team be waiting for over 6 weeks for a qualifier if they are in the top 2 divisions and get knocked out in a premilarily round game like the losers of the Donegal v Tyrone game in Ulster next year ?

I am happy it was voted in, however i would of went to 3 tiers, Senior, Inter and Junior, like we have in every single county in the country, however too many would complain and play the victim.

Its still not clear to me in some aspects.

Are the supers 8s gone and back to straight knockout QFs in tier 1?
All div 3 and 4 teams get qualifier chance if they lose their provincial final, if they lose their first qualifier do they go into the Tier 2?
Does Tier 2 competition only start when all provincial finals are finished? E.G long wait for first round losers
Will New York play tier 2, will they travel?

It was never denied.

Anyway as above, silly thread.

What are you going to be when you grow up?

I would like to be Gaelic football manager if i can, i will actually do it for free also, no need for 50K for me.

Seriously though, the GAA is in a better place now than it ever was, dont get me wrong, there are definitly issues to be addressed  (Take away your hatred for all things Dublin) = Inter-county football which as a higher standard of skill and fitness now than it ever had and the mismangement of finances by county boards (See brolly article from Sunday) Some great seens from around the country last weekend of county semis and finals, Thats the real GAA.

Dont be silly the Greatest, i want us to go back to the 00s when my own county team was good and we'd put it up to those pesky Dubs. How there they win All Irelands over us country folk, sure its our game.

I think there is a lot of people on this forum who need to grow up and stop with the excuses and whinging.

Looks like you forgot to log out and log back in under a different user name!

Good one..........

Diarmuid and his club St Vincent looked very poor on RTÉ tonight.

The worst performance i have seen from a Vinnies team in a decade. Judes are a good team however, thye were in the final last year.

Worse than the performance v Rathnew two years ago? Judes better than Rathnew has to be taken into consideration.

I dont think they actually played that bad v Rathnew, V Judes they were clueless. Really bad.

A follow up from Supermac's.

https://www.supermacs.ie/supermacs-statement-re-galway-gaa-finances-follow-up/

3.As previously stated, our concerns in relation to financial matters in Galway GAA were brought to the attention of the Galway County Board 4 years ago and, shortly afterwards, to the attention of Croke Park and nothing happened. We raised these concerns again at a meeting with the County Board in January of this year following the findings of the Mazars Report.

Sounds quite typical, ah be grand, dont worry yourself about it, bit of an FAI job, under age players not having right gear etc.

Championship draw this morning for some reason and "The draws for the Munster and Connacht championships take place tomorrow morning, while it's Ulster turn on Thursday". This is a new (and completely pointless) departure, there's barely enough talking points in the entire draw without dragging it out like this.

Leinster first round draw:

Louth v Longford

The winner will play Laois in a quarter-final

Wexford v Wickow

The winner is set to play Meath in a quarter-final

Carlow v Offaly

The winner will play Kildare in a quarter-final

Quarter-final:

Westmeath v Dublin

Good draw. Looking like Dublin Kildare semi and if Dublin progress* Dublin v Meath Final, two Div 1 teams contesting. Looking forward to it

It's an open draw for the semi-finals.

Didnt know that. cheers.

Dublin posters seem obsessed with this topic for some reason. Almost like they're trying to deflect attention from something else...

Or the complete opposite of what you said.

There is a dublin thead with over 100 pages and full of Mayo posters, then when something with your own counties misfortunes its deflection and the blame game.

GAA properties raided by the gardai in Limerick apparently. Officials and players supposedly involved in corruption.
