It takes a certain sort of individual eejit to traipse halfway across Ireland and pay €20 to watch players go through the motions.

Don't be too PC!

luckily for you, your eejits bowed out last saturday. He He  ;D ;D ;D
But at lest youe 20 euro on sat was into croker for 2 games if you have any interest in hurling.
i suppose its another 20 euro into Breffni this sat, but if Down play as bad as last sat night i wont be going to anymore this year. :( :(

GAA Discussion / Re: Sligo V Down Rd 4 Qualifier

id love to know where all this optimism about Down being certs here.
From what i seen on saturday night Down will have to up their game considerably if they are to beat Sligo.
Sitting in Tullamore saturday night i seriously could not see any progress from last year and no disrespect to the faithful county but a better team would have beaten us comfortably.

Was at Tullamore tonight, terraces 20 euro stand 25 euro.
Who regulates these prices for qualifier games. Is there not a set price that the gaa set out at start of season or do each county board make up their own prices, if so im not surprised Tullamore is such a nice ground by the admissionprices.
It really left a bad taste being charged so much in to a qualifier to watch a game played by amateur footballers.
I have been at premier league games and paid less.
No wonder crowds are so poor this year.
Admission prices are turning more people away than the fact that so many games are now on tv.

snoopdog, what would consider a fair price? e10? e15? i certainly take your point, esp in todays environment - i paid e20 into the munster final and i thought it was good value considering the price of a pint these days

For a qualifier game yes 10e 15 for seating reasonable price.
I wouldnt mind so much paying 25 for a provincial final. Amateur sport in basic grounds does not deserve the price that the association are charging. Croker is a wrld class stadium and they get away with the prices there but imagine how sickening it was to be  charged 25 euro into Tullamore last night. Lovely ground by GAA standards but its mostly just concrete terrace.

No word on attendance in Tullamore last night, was in stand and it looked reasonably full while a few hundred on terraces.Big Down support around.
Must be the best ground in the country outside Croke Limerick and Semple. A credit to the County Board.

Ironically in croker its the ones who can afford to buy premium and corporate actually get charged quite reasonable prices for pints and food.
And yes those who set the charges walk in the side gate.
Why do kids have to pay a fiver into Croker yet u16s get in free elsewhere.

Was anyone at Celtic park yesterday? What was the charge for that

Just home from tullamore, Down were blessed to win that one. Offally have improved hughely over the last few games, goes to show how a few games in the qualifiers can help0 gel a team. Down could have been beaten in the first 10 minutes .
Yet agan the old fralities come through the faithful won alot of breaking ball around the middle and some of Downs passing was terrible, another team could have easily destroyed Down tonight. But we live to fight another day.
Beautiful ground.
Prices into it were rediculoud 20 euro for terrace 25 for stand. The GAA will reap what they sow, can only rip people off for so long.
These prices are a joke and no wonder no one goes to the games anymore. GAA deserve what they get, the country is broke but still it rides the followers.

this is obviously not a game that has people talking, very little interest on the board for it. Will there be anyone at it.
Sums p the qualifiers to be honest
Good idea in theory but no one really cares enough about them to travel the country, the crowds last week were terrible cant see them being any better this week.
The GAA really need to promote these better.

Not celebrating the win. Feel bad for louth. Bad day for officials. Bad day for the gaa. Will say more when i get home. Louth should be champions.

Fair play, you can be added to the list of people in Meath that deserve any respect.

Those men who attacked the ref i can understand why they did it, none of them hit him, it was few shoves here and there. Those men were all in there 50s grown men not thugs. The pain of all those yrs and to be robbed like that.

NO ONE CAN TELL ME THE UMPIRE AND REF DIDNT SEE WHAT HAPPENED, They knew fine well it was no goal. How are ye even questioning there eye sight, it has to be the most clear cut cheating by officiials i have ever seen.. I dont blame meath but I wouldnt want win any title that way.

defending the indefencible. they are thugs, and will hopefully get what they deserve. Galway fans didnt react to a  very poor ref decision that cost them the game .

The moral of the story is that cheating wins in Gaa.
In every sport.

Meath have stooped to new lows today. Sheridan has no place on a GAA field after this, Meath even robbed him from his true county.

It's all about power in this sport. Big names like Meath have power and can buy out the players and officials from other smaller counties. Time and time again we have seen this.

I doubt if more than half of the Meath players are even from Meath.

must be a full moon out man cause you are crazy
