i would like to take this opportunity to say that not only is Benny a very smart guy, but also great craic, particularly if you can involve cigars and mullaghbawn club bar in any discussion.

that's pretty positive right?

also I contribute to my club, though whether the rest of the members think that is positive i'm not sure- there were definitely positive  comments when I was playing. Well mostly positive, actually maybe just a few positive - thanks QZ, Flappy, Charlie and Jonah, love ya. And Mum, Dad not so much...

grea story:
QuoteAnother that meant a lot to Tyson was his 1988 defense against aging former champ Larry Holmes, whom Tyson drilled in the fourth round.

"Cus had wanted me to beat him so bad," he said. Then he explained why, in a fascinating story I had never heard before.

Tyson explained that he was 14 when D'Amato took him and Jay Bright, a longtime member of Tyson's inner circle, from their home in Catskill, N.Y., to Albany to watch on closed circuit as Holmes retained the title in a 1980 destruction of the faded Muhammad Ali. Tyson even recalled the exact date: Oct. 2.

"I was offended by how bad he beat up Ali," Tyson said. "When we drove home to Catskill [about an hour from Albany], nobody in the car said a word, we were all so upset. The next morning, Cus was on the phone with Muhammad Ali after taking this shellacking from Holmes. He said to Ali, 'I have this young black kid who is going to be heavyweight champion someday and I want you to talk to him.'"

Tyson got on the phone and said he told Ali, "'When I grow up, I'll fight Holmes and I'll get him back for you.' I was 14 at the time."

When Tyson did meet Holmes seven years later, Ali was a guest at the fight. Tyson said Ali whispered to him beforehand, "Remember what you said -- get him for me."

varies from state to state- In NJ the car is insured not the driver, so any driver is covered as long as the car is insured.

my ideal buys for Liverpool area clone of the 1977 Alan Hansen, and a clone of the 1993 Roy Keane. That would be enough to take that team (or pretty much any premiership side) to the next level

General discussion / Certus
May 21, 2011, 02:43:10 PM
Certus is the company that is charged by LLoyds (who took over Bank of Scotland and Bank of Scotland Ireland) to recover assets owing to their loan book.

on the board of directors is Joe Higgins and helpfully Certus have provided his C.V.:
Quote
He started with Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Belfast in 1996, and has held numerous senior roles including responsibility for Asset Finance, Banking and also the launch of the Retail operations in 2005 before being appointed Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director in 2006.  In March 2003 he was appointed to the Board of Bank of Scotland (Ireland).

In 2007, Joe was promoted to Head of Mortgages in HBOS where he worked for two years before returning as Chief Executive of Bank of Scotland (Ireland) in March 2009.

Joe has extensive leadership, management and change management experience.  He has successfully transitioned Bank of Scotland (Ireland) through its change in ownership from HBOS to Lloyds Banking Group and now to Certus

Certus is the firm that has placed Lough Erne into administration. Lough Erne loans were guaranteed by Jim Tracey's very successful Supervalu in Dublin, a business that has now been put into receivership because of the loans owing at Lough Erne.

I am not for a moment complaining about administrators going after assets against loans with guarantees. Having the genius former CEO of BOS(I) who managed to lose 1.88 Billion Euro in 6 months in 2010, placing a successful business into administration while trying to clean up the mess of loans that he issued in the first place strikes me as a possible conflict of interest at best and more of the disgraceful old boys network at its work in the Financial Industry in Ireland.

any thoughts on giggs suing twitter? as daft as it seems- will everyone who tweeted "Ryan Giggs is suing twitter. I can't Imogen why?" be named as defendants?
