Don the story relating to Bugler was only a very small example of the lack of interest in GAA in that particular school,but you turned it in the main event,well done on missing the wood from the trees.

Bottom line there's seems to a massive underperformance in the 2nd level schools in Portlaoise Parish given the numbers available to them and this needs to be addressed.

As regards the comment about Bugler and Football,I'm surprised Don that you weren't aware that he has 2 County Senior Football medals.

That approach must be working with the CBS now at the minute Don.I see even in the Leinster schools football,the CBS is in Juvenile division D.

Yeah god forbid they might  recognize an All Ireland winning hurler all right there Don.

Why would chaps need any bit of insight from a winner as to what standards they have to achieve when we are doing so well on our own.

The Birr lads didn't have the same insular approach when Bro.Dennis came up from Cork.

When you look at the pick the CBS have,they are punching way below their level in both codes.

A coulple of strong schools are vital to the underage scene.

Brendan Bugler went for a job in the CBS when he was commuting from Feakle to Callan CBS,None of those interviewing him realized what his achievements outside of teaching were he was passed over for the position and he's now in Flannans.

Given the size of Portlaoise,should the likes of the CBS be performing better?,in comparison to the Convent next door which seems to be winning titles in Basketball,Soccer and Football.

Two good games there, second one was bizarre to say the least, not as fluent in style of play but the turn around from O'Loughlin gaels was mighty, I thought OTB were going to blow them out of the water, first touch, support play, positioning, score taking and long range frees was top notch, one dodgy goal they lost confidence and the gaels ran out easy winners

If every club in laois had as good a juvenile hurling  set up as Ballinakill has,we would be in fine fettle.
Very noticeable the number of current senior players they have involved underage.

As for Slieve Margy,do they not have 5 football clubs feeding into the hurling team?.

I didn't say that they were even considering this at senior level,I said maybe in time it might be a possibility.

We put out 2 u12 hurling teams with Ratheniska up until 2016.

The aspiration is to hurl at the highest level in the amalgamation,that said there is an awareness that every chap regardless of ability needs to be brought along.
There is nothing to stop us entering more than 1 team in each underage grade.We did this before now in our amalgamation with Ratheniska.

And who's to say in time there will be 4 adult club  teams if this is is successful,maybe a strong Raheen parish team in junior/intermediate/senior might be a runner......in time.

It would and given our existing player base,probably some from Stradbally/Timahoe also

But if all juvenile teams in a combined Clonad/Colt/Shanahoe arrangement wear Clonad jerseys in 2017 I'll stand outside Eamon Duff's for the night dressed in a feather boa and chewing on my own mickey!

We have formally  informed Park/Ratheniska that our amalgamation with them is at an end,We had wanted a full amalgamation from u6 up with them,while they were only willing to give us an u14 and u 16 amalgamation.

Talks are progressing well between ourselves Colt/Shanahoe and Ballypickas with a view to including all juvenile age grades,we would expect that all teams will be hurling in Division 1 or the A grade.
