A thread especially for TheBigDog and southtyronegael (and anyone else interested). Knock yourselves out here lads, and maybe let the other thread be about football. No offence but the pair of you would absolutely sicken one's shite. Ye have the other thread absolutely ruined with childish insults and rumour mongering about individuals in Garvaghey.

So any chance all the bitching and yapping about cartels and fuhrers etc could take place in here instead? For what it's worth - I have no issue with anybody talking about matters related to the county board/management etc and wouldn't necessarily be a fan of a lot of what goes on in Garvaghey - but references to Mickey Harte as 'Furher' etc are beyond just childish, but should be regarded by anyone with a half a braincell in their head, as totally unacceptable.

And no harm lads, but yis have had an absolutely poisonous impact on the thread for other reasons. The constant bitching about Harte etc has led to a broadening of targets to the extent that others are being totally unfairly attacked. I'm thinking in particular of Teamtalk, who provide a service - free of charge - to Tyrone Gaels that is the envy of every county in Ireland. And this attack initiated by one individual in particular who despite telling us all of how Tyrone football 'is his life', didn't even know that the Teamtalk Awards were all about honouring club players - yet he still felt qualified to anonymously attack the organisers. And of course the other target in recent days - Kieran Kennedy of O'Neills - who has been roundly attacked for having the temerity to appear in a photos of jersey sponsorship announcement when his company made the jerseys and sponsors vast sums to Tyrone at county and club level; and for having the temerity to wish have Tyrone jerseys on sale before Christmas (no doubt if they appeared in Jan or Feb - the same toerags would be on here spouting about them not being made available in time for Christmas), and this without a shred of evidence that he had any say whatsoever in the timing of the sponsorship deal. Kennedy has been torn to shreds and portrayed as some sort of greedy fat cat, when in reality, he is generous to a fault to the GAA in Tyrone.

So when the poisonous atmosphere that is polluting the thread, and men like Noel McGinn & the Teamtalk crew, and men like Kieran Kennedy are seen as free reign to take swipes at by posters who hide behind anonymity and proclaim themselves as 'heros' who are playing their part by 'not going to matches or buying jerseys', then you have to wonder who's next unfortunate Gael that will find themselves in their firing line.

So here yis go lads. Go mad....here's a thread for all of you that are into that dung. Let those of us who want to talk/read about football, do so in peace over on the other thread.

I would say Noel would make a good chairman sometime in the future.
Tyrone county secretary, Tyrone county chairman, club Tyrone, sponsorship,  it's kinda morphing into the one entity of the supreme commandership of Mickey the great.

And you're kinda making a fine job of making this page all about Harte too. Gwan shut the f@#k up for a while and let people talk/read something that isn't your dislike of Harte. We know you don't like him. Message received loud and clear.

Shut. Thee. Fcuk. Up.

Please.

It's actually ruining this page.

...The PSNI was the result of those efforts. Was it perfect? No. Is it perfect today? No. But guess what? No police force is perfect...

Doesn't that imply that it's a) almost perfect, and/or b) no worse than other imperfect forces? Given the lengths the PSNI is still going to in order to cover up state collusion surely it deserves to be held to higher standards this?

On 28th July, the PSNI was found guilty of breaching the human rights of the families of the Glenanne Gang's victims. It was found to have "frustrated any possibility of an effective investigation" into the activities of a mass-murder gang that the RUC was so deeply involved in. In other words, they were trying to frustrate any investigation into the mass-murder of around 120 people, perpetrated by a group which included a large number of RUC officers and security force personnel. As part of the judgement, the High Court ordered the PSNI to meet with the families before 4th September. It ignored this legally biding court order and did not meet the families.

If someone wants to join such an organisation, that's their decision and I don't condone or support for a second any form of attacks on such people, but while it is an organisation that works to cover up state collusion of so many civilians, and treats the victims families with such shocking levels of disdain, then it's not a police force that I'd ever want to be a part of.

New drains in Omagh is a separate issue from a stand in Garvaghey.
Hosting spectators must not have been part of the remit of the Garvaghey development though in hindsight the CB would love to hav somewhere they have complete control of the money generation on championship day.
Garvaghey belongs to the County board, Healy park doesn't. Why should the County board pay to drain Omaghs pitch pitch ahead of building changing rooms in Pomeroy or a stand in Exendork or a new surface in Carrickmore? Why would any of these clubs be more deserving of a handout than Aghayaran or Derrytresk or Eskra or Dregish?

In fairness, I'd have thought a new surface would be the last thing Carrickmore needed, given that it already has a fairly new surface (5 years old) and is up there with the very best surfaces in the county.

Sean O'Callaghan.Tout.

A Kerry man that Tyrone boys did fear.

I'd say in the past few decades, it was he who lived in fear of Tyrone boys. Good riddance to him.

Ha there's a lot of stuff some people don't know about thats happened in recent weeks and I obviously am not going to write it on this but just give it time
As I already stated, given the circumstances of the players past, would it be too much to expect that anonymous slabbers would avoid going online and giving the whole country ammunition to use their imagination and spread any rumours they like about a player who's wrestled with his demons to the point where he admits having very nearly taken his own life over them? As a matter of simple decency, would you not think that maybe that sort of behavior is going to hinder the man more than help him? And what benefit is it to you anonymously making suggestive rumours online abut a recovering addict? Seriously? What benefit to you outweights the risk to the man's welfare? Time to grow up a bit.

Quote from: Legoman5 on May 25, 2017, 08:19:47 AM
Some may say i'm stirring a pot here but people needa accept reality
What reality is there when all you are doing is trying to tell people there are rumours about him, but that you won't/can't elaborate. That's not being a champion of truth and virtue, That being an anonymous gossipmonger at the expense of a vulnerable GAA man.

Quote from: Legoman5 on May 25, 2017, 08:19:47 AM
we're quick to run down others in other Counties but when its one of our own we try cover over the cracks!!
Thankfully, most people in fact don't use this site to anonymously insinuate rumours about amateur players activities off the field. And if a few anonymous cowards do, that doesn't somehow mean it's a decent thing for everyone else to do too.

If your son was a recovering addict who'd gone so far as to contemplate taking his own life, would you appreciate online mouthpieces posting anonymous suggestive comments about him? Don't pretend for a second that you would be OK with it. Would it kill you to avoid putting others through that stress? Or is the warm fussy feeling you get when you think you have some 'gossip-but-cant-say-what-it-is-type-gossip' just too important to you?

Heard there's no injury to McCarron at all and there may be a few disruptions in the camp! Heard he has missed trainings with Club & County this season and maybe there's more to why he's been missing club games this year!
in saying all this these could just be rumours floating around...

Well given the man's history, do you think that perhaps anonymously posting some suggestions of rumours surrounding him will be a help or a hindrance to him in his efforts to beat his deamons? Go on delete that post ffs.

Anyone want to share what happened with Mattie?

He clothes lined Johnstone.

Tyrone lads awful soft these days, was it 3 or 4 took off injured? It's all the line dancing, doesn't build upper body strength.
Barely made the slightest contact! Seanie went to ground roaring in agony amd was up like a shot the secomd Mattie got the card.

I do feel sorry for them. Unfortunately there's been plenty of club rooms targeted in the past and its the first time I've heard of this type of ticket selling.

Just my opinion - I hope their fundraising is very successful and they get back up and running soon - have they been without club room facilities for long?

Plenty of club rooms destroyed, indeed, but rarely immediately after rebuilding from an initial arson attack. If it were my club, then hell rub it up anyone that had a problem with me standing at any championship fixture trying to raise a few pound to help pay the repairs. We're the GAA. When another member is down, we generally help them up again. Why any different for a club?

Not sure how their rebuilding is going.

My only point is I'm not in favour of clubs going to other GAA grounds and selling major fundraising tickets there. Just my opinion. I hope Moy club have a successful draw and I'll buy a ticket if the opportunity arises.

I see it as an opportunist move by the Moy club to target venues that will be attended by GAA supporters.

Can neither of you see that there are extenuating circumstances in Moy's case with regards the fact that their clubrooms have been gutted by two arson attacks in around about the last year? Cut them a bit of slack. They are going outside the norms in fundraising for no other reason than their circumstances are outside the norm. They seemingly are getting little/no joy from the cops or insurance, so maybe it's time to cut them some slack?

Moy mustn't be getting any grant as they were begging around the grounds this is still few weeks . Is it not enough paying the admission money without being targeted by these people. I'd like to know are they doing this with county board approval ?

Worth remembering that they have had their clubrooms set alight by arsonists twice in the past year or so and, last I heard, have been getting next to no support from the cops nor joy through insurance. I for one wouldn't begrudge them given their situation. If you do, then you are not obliged to donate.
