Sean Cavanagh having a whinge in the Irish independent today about Colm not getting a public thank you from the county board. Is that a thing they do? Not sure what they were expecting?

I see he uas also come out with the claim that "players will be encouraged to hide potential symptoms of sickness and illness". What a load of utter dung.

Now hold on. Mark Devenport or Mark Carruthers?

It's a minor game lads. Hardly the be all and end all.

Could be worse, you could have to share the trophy.

I don't think, especially in the current climate, that anyone is suggesting is is the be all and end all; but the fact remains that in a footballing context, a Grade 1 Minor Championship title is a massive achievement for any ambitious club/young footballer. Hugely disappointing for the lads if it doesn't get finished up.

The 2 quotes below came from a member of the DUP.

They really are a laughing stock.  ;D ;D

ďThe blatant disregard shown to social distancing and COVID-19 regulations, which are in place to protect us all, was shameful.

ďWe cannot have the name of this council associated, by supporting in a financial way, any form of misogynistic, derogatory and disgusting terms against women."

I can only assume he vociferously spoke up against the DUP MLAs who made 'Moo' noises across the Assembly Chamber any time an MLA from the Woman's Coalition rose to speak?

A few more players not coming back.
Surely the mods should have be dishing out sort form of brutal punishment for lads posting up lines like that and not fronting up with names?

Is it that:
1. You know the names, but you like the idea of knowing a secret?
2. You don't know any names, and are just passing on a totally unsubstantiated rumour that some unnamed players are quitting?

What sanctions surely the host club were to blame that supporter got so close to referee.
I've read some dung on this board in my time but this takes the absolute biscuit.

Made an edit to my original post to include these two doses:

Conor McGregor - A tool. In every way.

Allison Morris (Irish News) - Regardless of the story, she seems to always find a way to turn it into a story about feminism. At it again with Golfgate this week. On twitter once, I was in a discussion involving her during which I was lamenting the platform given to Bryson and Allister on Nolan. I posted a list of all Nolan's guests over the last week (or whatever time period it was) and how regularly they featured (with Bryson and Allister of course topping the table). Most of those guests happened to be men. Rather than take my point about Bryson and Allister, she instead accused me of being sexist because the featured mostly men. She refused to apologise or back down. Unbelievable.

My apologies. I thought she was active in the school system, then at the Swedish parliament, then in the EU before going global. If you are telling me these things didnít happen Iíll take you at your word.

All of which happened within a few months.
"In August 2018, at age 15, she started spending her school days outside the Swedish parliament to call for stronger action on climate change by holding up a sign reading Skolstrejk fŲr klimatet (School strike for climate)"

She addressed the 2018 United Nations Climate Change Conference that December.

Quite a leap, that. But it all happened by magic.

I don't have to explain anything to you.

I wonder who history will be kinder to. You or her?
Or you?

I could log on here everyday and label you a kiddy fiddler. It would be considered bad form if I didnít back it up. No point in calling someone a twat if you are not prepared to explain it.

It is a discussion board after all

FFS Smelmoth, just how warped are you? What sort of a f**ked up, sick comment is that? Can you not see a bit of a difference between saying you think some 'celebrity'/public figure is a twat, and accusing someone of being a pedophile?

As an aside, maybe it's just me but I always find it odd people using the term "kiddy-fiddler". Some people just seem to get a kick out of talking about it in terms like that which, at least to me, seem to be to be an attempt to trivialise/jocularise the seriousness of the crime. I mean, no harm, Smelmoth, but why would it even cross your mind to shoehorn "kiddyfiddling" into a discussion like that?

Its hardly a sick comment. There were plenty of genuinely sick comments on paedophiles, their victims and the victims families by a poster called Tony Fearon that I and others had to face down. Nothing I have said even compares.

Nobody was accused of being a paedophile. The term was used to show how easy it is to make a baseless accusation. If someone is going to out of the way to fire out abuse at least be prepared to back it up. It was yourself who called McCrossan nasty. I donít know the man and so am not defending him up. But I am challenging you to back it up. Just like I challenged Five Points. But he just ran away. Bizarrely after calling someone else a coward. You couldnít make it up

Stop using other posters like Tony Fearon as an excuse. Do you really need it explained to you that saying you think a public figure comes across as "nasty" without also posting the evidence of them being nasty, is the same as accusing someone of being a paedophile without providing the evidence?

1. Micheal Martin - Where do you start? A snake. A hypocrite. A dyed in the wool partitionist. A careerist. An elitist. A liar.

2. Stephen Nolan -An egomaniac. An insufferable dose. A genuine threat to a hard won peace with his constant stirring up of sectarianism.

3. Daniel McCrossan (SDLP MLA) - Smarmy, nasty, agressive, snide, smug. Spoofer.

4. Joe Brolly - Hypocrite. Would mever work for Eir sez he using virtue signalling justifications. Then he joined the crew. Positioned himself as a champion on the fight against covid, even after returning from Chelthenham. Can't hold a consistent position on anything. Another egomaniac.

Those are the only four off the top of my head that actively make my skin crawl. Others, in no particular order below:

Trump (obvious reasons)
Boris (obvious reasons)
Jamie Bryson (obvious reasons)
Jim Allister (obvious reasons)
Ruth D.E. (obvious reasons)
Malachi O'Doherty (Possibly the world's most smug, arrogant man)
Pat Leahy (embodiment of everything thats wrong with Ireland's mainstream media. Just a shameless propagandist)
Michael Lowry (Because I'm not allowed nominate his gombeen voters as a collective group)
Charlie Flanagan (obvious reasons)
Mark Selby - Always been the anti-craic, but now you can add sore-loser to the list.

Can I add to this later as more come to mind?lol

Agree with all,  except Selby !!!

Yeah, Selbys a bit of a cruel. I actually think he took the loss to Ronnie quiet well.

Well it's been said before that snooker is lacking characters and he just the real example. He seems to show no joy or enthusiasm even in success. And in defeat, I'd have to disagree with you - his interview post Ronnie seemed seriously bitter to me.

Still, maybe harsh to put him on the list. If this thread was started a few months from now, instead of just after the World Championships, he'd not even crossed my mind.

Dire Ear, you started that post very well, but I'm afraid you tailed off badly at the end and I'm going to have to add you to my list!lol

Sid, I appreciate that you're a blueshirt who has been desperately embarrassed by the behaviour of FG and now your only option it's to try take the heat off them by refusing to talk about the actual story at hand. And Fear Bun na Sceilpe, I appreciate that you have no apparent hobbies or interests beyond insufferably whining about SF, but I feel obliged to offer you both yet another gentle reminder (because I can see you're both struggling to grasp this) but this week's big news story actually isn't about SF.

That's weakest response I've ever seen. BŪodh ciall agat agus tar ar ais i mo chasa ar scor ar bith le rud ťigin a dhťanann ciall. In short wise up, you've run out of stuff to say that makes any sense. wtf do you do but defend them

"What do I do but defend them?" You won't have to scroll back too many posts to see me refer to their social distancing breaches at Bobby Storey's funeral in June as "unnecessary, stupid and irresponsible".

So again, your (and Sids) attempts to class me as defending SFs every action are as daft as your laughably transparent attempts to divert 'Golfgate' into being a story all about SF. I mean FFS, that clown Sid even managed, in a way that would make Jim Allister blush, to shoehorn the IRA into Golfgate story!!lol
