I dread the year we have to play a senior Connacht final at Pearse. Paddy Joe will have to bulldoze those stupid walled roads in Salthill with the Rosmobile.
Ya won't have to worry yer little headeen about playin a senior Connacht Final  ANYWHERE  ;)

The best thing about this year will be that we get to beat ye (pending Maroon) and then come back to Castlebar for a re-run of 2010.

Lock yer doors, lads. We're coming.

How should ye have beaten us?

If mother nature's blizzard hadn't blown three Donie Shine shots (two were frees, if I recall) short then this new-found Mayo confidence would have been stamped out before it was even born.  ;)

Mayo r serious price. If they overcome galway which they should they will be in the last 8.

Steady on. Mayo got the Connacht draw from hell and they'll have to earn every step they take. The two teams they'll probably play if they beat Galway are teams who could have (and in our case should have) beat them in the last two Connacht finals. Even losing the final is likely game over for Mayo, with the six day turnaround in full bloom again this year.

What are the roadworks like on the N17 these days? Is there some sewage works going on? We'll have to leave earlier in the morning if that's the case.

Hopefully Mayo don't end up in the gutter on the 19th.

General discussion / Re: Man Utd Thread:

It's amazing, really. Fergie was in charge at Man U before I was even born. When I was a kid I used to be a big Man U fan and even though that's faded in the last decade it's impossible to think of Manchester United without Alex Ferguson. Even up to yesterday there was a part of me that thought he'd be there until he died.

Strange day. It's made me pause for thought more than when JP2 died, though that probably says more about the concerns of the post-Cold War generation than anything else.

Uh oh. The Green and (very) Red army is massing at the Gaza Strip.

Let me clear it up for ye - he was using an euphemism to say you're choke artists. Glad to be of service!!  8)

With respect Syferus, I think Seafóid can answer for himself.

Do you think he was euphemistically labelling Mayo 'choke-artists' ? Or is that what you want to think ( maybe you think that is what we are too?) he is saying? Let s see what the man says?

It's the only thing people mean when they mention a Mayo complex. Seafoid wouldn't be so uncouth as to put it as bluntly as that but the gist is the same and unmistakable.

Of course I don't think Mayo are choke artists, just helping clear up a misunderstanding.  :D

Jinxy wont be happy that an Ulster predicition thread popped up. Too many Ulster related threads on this board is his motto.

There's going to be a serious power shift to the Wesht on this forum when Liam O'Neill puts half of Ulster in Connacht..  :-X

Connacht people are too friendly to each other. Need to be a biteen meaner at the gate and in the stands methinks.

What a pity the "democratic freedom loving" Western powers didn't give as much help the the Freedom marchers in Bahrein as they did in Libya and Syria? >:(

Cake is mobilising as we speak. Freedom's greatest weapon.

Change the thread title to Alex Ferguson please

Why?

Because it's sycophantic. Unless of course you salivate using royal titles like some working in RTE.

Jaysus. We're not at that craic down south. A hard day's labour in the bog will bate that stuff out of the system.

I thought DAME Helen Mirren was excellent in the The QUEEN, though.

Sure none of these pretenders would have had a hope against Seamie O'Neill.

Why should London be treated differently from anyone else? If they reckon abroad is different then let them not play in the All Ireland championship. New York and London are a cause of immense hassle to the championship and are no benefit whatsoever.

Arrah, let's go the full hog and take out the passengers and just let the 26 counties play the championship. I'm sure we can convince Kilkenny to take the big ball up again.

Bejaysus, buck - perspective, please.

No defence swarming!
Did you even watch the match?
