Congratulations Shamrocks.  You did it in style.

Jamie Clarke almost clicked a couple of times but it never really went off with a bang for him. He could have a big replay.

Oh yeah I forgot - CBGS. Must be great to be in the senior A colleges final year after year - NOT.

A combined colleges team from Belfast in mccrory cup could work. I think they've done it in Dublin hurling to good effect.

Each to their own, but we have underfloor and love it.

Cornafean - those boys have been unreal over the years.  Fair play to them.

A great achievement for all the winners. Strange to see ulster and connaught empty handied, they usually do fairly well.  Also interesting to see Dublin coming up again.  Was it the usual mix of great talent and controversy?

Feckitt, I'm nearly sure Aoghan Farrell said on radio ulster this morning that plenty (if not all) of the money still had to be raised - like tens of millions. and running costs won't be sneezed at either.

A very modern 25k stadium would be great. 40k too big unless it had been a shared stadium. Will lack atmosphere unless at least 3/4 full. Antrim national league games will look silly in this size of stadium. And truthfully I can't see anything more than 1 or 2 big ulster games per year.  Sure at the moment the big games aren't hitting 20k. I hope it works out but my fear is it will become a financial millstone.

Plenty more clubs will face the same fate.  Fair play to the Celtic board if they've been prudent.  Sooner or later players wages and possibly transfer fees will have to be capped.  If you don't control it then there will always be clubs who do a 'Rangers'.  And the clubs who try to do it right will get left behind for a while to their fans frustration (celtic).

Well it was a bit of a pre-planned set piece which lyster and mcstay could've avoided on a League Sunday programme, but once the question was asked, short of saying "slap it up the idiots who hurdled the fence in portlaoise", what else was mcstay to say.  Harsh it wasn't - truth hurts.

That was a fair discussion on kildare monaghan dust up.  Wasn't much but it won't look good in Monday papers, and it comes quickly after the derrytresk thing.  And any sanctions handed down when these things happen will be watered down - nail on the head.

Whichever channel unearths a great commentator will have it nailed.  God I used to love listening to O'Hehir in my youth. He had a great tone and really added to the atmosphere. There's nobody commentating at the moment who I enjoy. I really think it's actually doing damage to the GAA - like do you ever see a child running about with a ball impersonating Morrisey?
