You're not far off the truth Galway BB, I had heard abt a month ago that the Ulster Minor championship was quiet poor this year.

But well done to our lads. I am of the view that there are 1 or 2 more good minor teams to come from Mayo in next 2 -3 years.

Danny Kirby started midfield against the O'Sheas. Any word on how he got on?

Danny was the pick of midfield, a pretty standout display by him. Think is beginning to kick on now.

Tough one again and yet another damp evening-after in the west just like the last ones. Funny how the I can remember things like that but would probably be the same if we had won.

Hats off to Donegal. A great team to have won as many games on tough routes over the last two years. In my book they are up there with great teams like the meaths/corks of the late 80's and the Galways 90's and Tyrones/Armaghs of 2000's. Couldn't happen to a nicer county and its great people.(Kerry were in a different league to everyone else lest it's mentioned)

Agree with someone above in that it didn't feel great heading for the match. I know I'm getting on now but I had more confidence going to all the previous finals. Bloody hell I hope i'm not "loosing the Faith".

Anyway a bit too sad and tired to go into deep analysis. You could maybe point to a few of our players who might have grabbed the game by the scruf, a quicker reaction on the line like Richie in sooner, but its easy to talk here.

I firmly believe however now more than ever that we have been unlucky in that we have never produced an outstanding forward to build a forward unit around like Allen, O'Rourke, Linden, Fitzgerald, McConville, Canavan, Brogan, Joyce and now Murphy.

Just my two cents worth  :-[

Anyway i'm sure we'll get back on the horse again fairly soon & enjoy your win up there in Donegal.

Is it true that the tickets have freed up a fair bit in the last two days.  Have heard this & if its true I wonder is it down to the 80 euro/ticket carry on. ::)

Small town politics - some local representatives getting petty. They sound like a few men who can't see the wood for the trees.

On another note, I don't think the fans are anywhere near as cocksure as is being suggested.

It'll be Donegal's toughest game and biggest text of this season, and while I hope they win, I'm not certain of anything. No one I know is being particularly cocky about it either. Sure, you'll get a few eejits in every county, but there's been such a concerted effort by some folk to play the 'Donegal are getting carried away with it' card by some supporters - and some analysts too, David Brady in particular - since the semi final that I've been genuinely suprised.#

No problem with Mayo, no problem with Mayo's support (as I'm well aware the Devenney could more than match any dumb statement Brady makes) and looking forward to a good battle between two evenly matched teams who both desperately want the win.

Jasus dont try to drag Brady down to the same level as Devenny  :o

At least we are all guessing.  8)

Rumour's abound that varley is starting in FF line. My own preference would be AOS in @ FF and brother and Barry at midfield. :-\

Getting excited about sunday now though.

"The Mayo keeper will never get a better chance to save a peno in Croke Park, but he made a balls of it. "

Sweet mother of jasus mr hound, did you really just type that. Its probably the most pathetic and revealing statement ever posted on this board.

Hope Ross do the business tomorrow. 2 Connaught teams in the minor semi's would not be a bad return. 8)

One of the good days for mayo football when both the minors & Seniors delivered in spades.

The injury to Andy seems has taken the gloss of it for many of us. We can ill afford to loose andy just like Down could ill afford to loose Marty Clarke. It shouldnt set Down back too much and I am sure it wont. They are a proud football county who have had much more success in the AI series over the past 50 years. They don't seem to have a strong bench just yet.

Most of our team played well from the start but the Down backs were poor to be fair. Barry Moran mantaining his form and O'Shea getting better. C O Connor should improve but Jason Doherty still has to impress IMO  ::).

Well done to all. A month is a long time with club 1/4 finals and all, but I'd say this side will have a good cut at Dublin.  ;)

Many of Kerry's comebacks and performances of the last few years have been sparked by Darren O Sullivan/Sheehan/Galvin/Gooch being good on different days. If 2 of these play badly & one more is outplayed, then they could be in a bit of bother.

But then again they have so many natural footballers that on any given day they might just do an 04 :'( , an 06 :'( or an 09 :D

But as a neutral I just cant wait for this match.

Tough enough gettin well beat by a better team.  :-[

Getting kicked when your down by a little pup like Brolly is hard to take. >:( He might be right about Vaughan diving. But Vaughan took a lot of abuse from Cork today and hearing that Gook saying he was delighted Cork stuck it to Mayo in the end was sickening.

Then again he always loved a winner did joe.
