Of course I would be there. But let's face it,if Armagh,Tyrone or any other Ulster county apart from Antrim, were being patronised for beating Antrim twice,Roscommon and Westmesth,I'd be embarrassed.

Being on a par with Armagh currently is not boast worthy.

A hiding in Croke Park in a high profile game,is not what young players need neither will they need the inevitable "sure weren't they great to get as far as the quarter finals anyhow (the subtext of which is "when they are normally shite"), patronisation that will follow the equally inevitable hiding.

Roscommon are in division 1 and were touted as all Ireland Contenders sure  ;)

A restructuring of the camogie championship is needed  :P

In fairness though a coin toss to decide a winner is mad in this day and age, it wouldn't even come into consideration in Senior Hurling or Football.

From Hoganstand. This explains the rest of the draw pretty clearly.

Just 12 teams remain in the hunt for the Sam Maguire after this weekend's action.

Provincial champions Dublin, Kerry, Monaghan and Mayo are safely through to the All-Ireland quarter-finals where they will be joined by the winners of the Cork v Kildare, Westmeath v Fermanagh, Donegal v Galway and Tyrone v Sligo fourth round qualifier ties, which will take place over the next two weekends.

In the first pair of quarter-finals on August 1-2, Dublin will face either Cork or Kildare and Kerry will meet the winners of Westmeath and Fermanagh. The following weekend, Mayo could face a rematch of their Connacht semi-final against Galway if the Tribesmen beat Donegal, while Monaghan will meet Tyrone or Sligo.

In the All-Ireland semi-finals, it's Kerry/Westmeath/Fermanagh v Monaghan/Tyrone/Sligo on August 23 and Dublin/Kildare/Cork v Mayo/Galway/Donegal on August 30.

Really?! Just going by ONeills post and what I thought myself if Galway beat Donegal and Tyrone beat Sligo the repeat pairing of Mayo v Galway could then be avoided?

I would have thought in this case it would be Mayo v Tyrone and Monaghan v Galway?

The capacity of Markievicz Park surely isn't much less than that? 18500? The arrangement seems fairly pointless if the capacity of the neutral venue can be 20,000!  ::)

Marky is far smaller than the Hyde even with revised capacities..

Doesn't matter anyways, there's a game to be played and now that can be focused on! Will be strange if it sells out though and a third of the place will be empty

Connacht Telegraph reporting the Hyde is being considered but would have a cut capacity of 20,000

With our record in Salthill and the distance Sligo have to travel I would say that the Sligo CB will run with Castlebar. Salthill could be crowded on the 19th with the skywhale.

Cripes!
Maybe the Breffni Park murmurings were not so silly after all!

If its a good day on the 19th July Salthill would be jammers either way I'd say.

Dont really mind where it is, get up to Galway early and wait a while after for the traffic to die down - theres worse places one could be looking to kill a few hours!  :P

Connacht and Ulster finals in Croke Park double header could happen yet  :P

Could well be a close game with Roscommon surely not aiming to reach their peak until August and the challenge of the Dubs in the semi final.

Lough Atalia Road is still one way inbound for Sunday I take it?

He brought us back from the dead which we were that day in Longford in such a short time. He gave it his all, brought us to the brink of reaching the promised land but we just couldnt get over the line. Turned Mayo into a top team and if we are to win one in the next few years his contribution will be remembered.

You may be right, but theres no way of really knowing the future. I think interest in the fixture is bigger now after todays display.

I still believe All Ireland Semi Finals should be in Croke Park as it is the prime GAA stadium in the country. Mayo and Kerry need a replay. The 6th is an available date at Croke Park, and it is been denied because of the off chance of the other semi final next weekend ending in a draw. If it does, no reason why the contingency plan for them cant be Gaelic Grounds if all teams are to be treated the same.
