I think it's crazy that the county hurling final is on this Sunday the same day as All Ireland Hurling semi final. Are hurling fans in county not interested in that?
Also this is probably the only weekend this year that clubs didn't want football games on Friday or Saturday because of concerts in Belfast and Slane. I'm not saying GAA organise fixtures around concerts but clubs will suffer because of the clash and players have bought tickets months ago. Would County Hurling final not have been better next Saturday (24 Aug) and everyone could have been accommodated?

We need to have a situation where county team is successful and club football also thrives. Shouldn't be county v club or people blaming Mickey Harte because he wants to look after his players. We need new people in fixtures that can plan things better. At present club football season only proceeds with any regularity if Tyrone are out of championship in June/July. New thinking needed. Why issue fixtures to clubs a few days ago which could only proceed if Tyrone were beat by Monaghan? Club v county conflict is created by incompetent administrators.

Mickey Harte would be right to object to a double round of fixtures and so would clubs. 2 games in 3 days will result in injuries. CCC have no idea about football and don't care about players at any level. If Tyrone beat Monaghan fixtures will be a disaster, surely CCC should have been proactive and planned for this at start of year. Absolute joke.

Club players want regular games, that is a game every weekend if possible. An odd weekend off for county football isn't an issue. I like playing on friday evenings and even saturday evenings at this time of the year as it means a saturday night out can happen.
But we have had 8 games since the start of the season and then 3 games are fixed within a few days of each other. Is there no one on CCC with any common sense that can plan ahead and formulate a plan before the season begins?
Tyrone county teams regularly get to Qfs and SFs of All Ireland, has to be a plan made which allows club games to be played as well as county teams being successful. If Tyrone reach All Ireland final (and I hope they do) what happens club football?

In 2013 to date Tyrone senior team has played maybe 18 games? (5 McKenna Cup, 9 NFL and 4 c'ship).
Ordinary club players in Tyrone have played 8 league games and have absolutely no idea what the schedule will be. And there was a crazy U21 competition played when club league games should have been played.
Most likely club players will be playing vital games in brutal conditions in the depths of winter. Does this make any sense? Certainly it doesn't to me. CCC in Tyrone need to take responsibility for this mess.

Clubs were informed by email a couple of weeks ago that there would be a round of starred fixtures this weekend, despite the fact that the all ireland QFs were on that same weekend, now it's looks like there will be no club games because county minors are playing on sunday.
Last weekend clubs were told by CCC that adult games had to be played on Sunday and the official guide states that adult games couldn't be moved or called off because of county minors.
This week there will probably be no adult games because of county minors playing on sunday!
CCC are just making it up as they go along. Clubs need regular games that they can plan for. County fixtures are released at the start of the year it can't be that hard to plan around them so ordinary club players get regular football.

7 clear days, senior rule is clear 13 days. Given that minors were scheduled to play on either Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th August. Obvious thing to do was play adult games on Friday so minors could play for clubs, also this would allow people to go to game in Croke park on Saturday and make a weekend of it if they wanted.
CCC just seem to make up fixtures as they go along from 1 week to the next with no plan or regard for clubs, players, supporters and when they make a mess blame somebody else.

Another example of CCC incompetence which really is nothing new. Only 8 rounds of adult games played at the end of July. If Tyrone teams progress in c'ship club league and c'ship will never be finished. This really needs to be sorted as clubs and club players are suffering

Under 7 day rule minors couldn't play on Sunday. Clearly a mistake on behalf of fixtures planners games should have been played on Friday night.

I always thought it was always 7 days for minors? Think that's what is in rule book? Was it changed?
Fixtures secretary must be blessed with some kind of mystic powers if he/she knew Tyrone minors were playing on Sunday as minor fixture v kerry was only known on Sunday morning.
Tyrone minors played Kerry a few years ago in portlaoise on a Saturday and it was very likely that could have happened this year again. If games had of been fixed for Friday night there would have been no doubt that minors were allowed to play for clubs.

It looks like some county minors players chose to play for clubs yesterday despite rules. The league games for county minors should have maybe been played last Friday night to avoid any conflict with rules and confusion for clubs and players. This is what used to happen in the past

As far as I know Laceer is correct the U21s had one get together to give individual programmes, they are not training regularly.
Club football leagues in Tyrone shouldn't be delayed or moved because of county minors. There are around 2000 adult club players in the county and no adult games should be called off or rescheduled because of thirty or so 17 and 18 year old boys. Let the young lads get on with playing at their own age group and have the honour of representing their county and let the adult leagues continue on without them if necessary. Senior teams shouldn't be dependant on young boys to win games for them.
Personally I like league games on Saturday evening so I can get out for a beer on a Saturday night. Midweek league games are very difficult because of players working away from home etc. And the club championship starts next weekend so clubs won't want to play too close to that.
Underage club football has been a mess this year and the new format of trying to play all age groups at the same time hasn't worked. Minor club football has been delayed because of exams, holidays, county minors, and U-16 football which is on at present so all the blame for delays can't be given entirely to county teams. The adult championship starts next weekend and this will delay minor club football as well as clubs won't play minor games the same week as adult championship!
Anyway best of luck to the county minors at the weekend and I hope they win an another All Ireland because I think winning minors is still extremely important for the county.

I think some of the posts show a serious lack of respect for Cavan.
Cavan clearly have a good group of players and fully deserved their win last night.
Maybe some of the Tyrone lads are over rated?
Maybe some Tyrone fans need to look at the reality that the team last night was poor and has been poor in all the games I have seen them play this year. Easy to blame managers when you lose, for me Cavan were the better team and had the better players.
