"Anyone who asserts that Dublin's current success is purely down to the money are flat out wrong. "

Then give the extra money up and receive the same funding level what other counties receive.  At the end of the day, people want a level playing field, just saying!  Until that time Dublin success will be tarnished by how things are stacked in there favour.

That all said, I'm cheering them on and I do hope they get 5 in a row (sorry Kerry!). Outstanding team with fantastic players.

I'm off the opinion that dry day will suit Mayo better than wet.  I do accept we played great against Donegal and appear to adapt to the wet conditions better than them, but, generally speaking, Mayo is a Summer team that enjoy playing on the hard surface of Croke Park.

Now if it does come windy ... well then... that puts the 'cat among the pigeons .. or seagulls as what have at croker'.  The swirling wind will make it difficult to judge shots for both teams.  In Mayo case that will probably help us as many of our shots go way ward anyway lol

I see Peter Canavan who was one of the few pundits that got the Mayo v Donegal game spot on has now tipped Dublin to win this game by a bit to spare. Only recent championship game that Dublin beat Mayo by a bit to spare was the semi final replay 4 years ago.

ah sure he can't be right all of the time !   ;D

It's one of these maddening situations for aos to be in. He gets walloped and assaulted by Dublin defenders on and off the ball, assault a mayo player and wait for retaliation and then lie down like a coward and wait for the card to be produced.
To get Sam Maguire to Mayo, where it needs to be for a change, all the Mayo players need to stay on the field and play their usual game which dublin have being really struggling to handle.
To cillian, Keegan, Vaughan and Higgins, please don't buy what the dub will try to sell on the pitch, walk away and play your football. Doing that, you are The Director, not the one being directed. You can direct dublin into defeat by not getting upset but laughing at the insults and sledging during the game. Same goes for Mayo sideline, keep it cool, you have to think calmly and not get sent to the bench like the kerry lunatic, it's not good for a player on the field with his hands full, looking at his management going bananas on the sideline, so lead by example. Calm.
Of all the things Mayo need on the big day, staying on the pitch and being in control of their own emotions are the 2 biggest things.
If Mayo Inc. do that, their football and power will do the rest and that big party in Galway on Monday last will look like a tea party in the back garden compared to what would be on show in Castlebar on Monday the 18th.

Call a doctor...

ouch .. thats us burned

QuoteI will also guess the pattern of us picking up black cards will continue

Dermo's buddy Branagan is the ref.

He likes us.
;D - I guess they won't be sending each other XMas cards.

I'm not buying that Cork are as bad as what folks here are thinking.  Reading through stats of the game against Kerry from https://dontfoul.wordpress.com/

'How Kerry ended up with an 11 point win however is purely down to the Conversion Rates'

All respect to our lads but I don't see them going 41 mins without a wide and generating 14 point attempts!  I will also guess the pattern of us picking up black cards will continue (particular when Kerrigan runs at our backs).  Who knows what impact that will have on Sat!

Not being greedy (as I got my own ticket), but I'm also in need for one ticket for my wife who has been along side me at the matches.  Though this time its probably best we don't sit beside each other as she will be shouting the Dubs along.  If someone does need to offload a ticket and to genuine case I'll pick it up anywhere in Ireland!

For the craic I went back and watched the highlights of Mayo v Dublin last year. Amazing how close Mayo were to winning that match and they should have kicked on and put the Dubs to the sword in the last quarter (although how many times could you say the same thing about Mayo over the years???)

https://youtu.be/G1qSQWz01NM

They have been running on dirty petrol all year and it will be no surprise if the pull out a huge performance on Saturday evening.

From Mayo perspective that's our big hope i.e. there is this grand plan at play!  We're clinging on to hope that we've been holding out until this weekend. So Saturday will show if indeed that is the case. Though for me, I'm not as sure ... match against Westmeath did show some slick movement and the guys definitely held back to save themselves, but an awful lot of bad play is still present, and allot of runs / plays amounted to ball being turned over.

Tyrone last 10 mins against Donegal was class!  Those are the times when you get to see the turn colours of individuals, brave in there attempts at scores and the never stop fighting mentality.

BTW - Who will be the refer?

So Eoin Liston says Mayo are definitely beating Tyrone. Mayo will be favourites before throw in. Can't see us winning this.

Tyrone it is so.

Tyrone are the definition of hard beat and Mayo are the sort of team that would give a team of corpses a live chance.

I'll be absolutely gobsmacked if Mayo manage to win this.

I think that's a little harsh on Mayo, though I do agree that Tyrone will prevail on Saturday .. we barely scrap by yous last time we met and we were in a far better shape back then.  The problem for us at the moment is that we are in the process of learning new system and its not clicking.  Tyrone know there system and its clicking very well.

Absolutely no complaints with yesterday loss ... Beaten by a better team on the day. On a lighter note, & off the ball, I saw Keegan pick of the ground and hand Connolly his drink. Just thought it was a nice gesture and for all the up roar with last week, it shows no hard feelings.

Before the ball was thrown in to start the game Connolly and Keegan exchanged handshakes. It was good to see and it set the tone of the tussle between them for the rest of the game.

Ah great stuff.
