By all means have them playing league football. There should be a proper reserve championship to accommodate them however. As much as the CE lads would have enjoyed winning a junior championship last year, there was hardly a celebration out of them after they beat Ballyhegan.

As for this year, St Peter's seconds are doing well, only lost one game to league favourites Corrinshego early in the season. Come championship you'd imagine that Forkhill and Middletown would be the favourites if they're at full strength.

That St Peters team will be hard stopped. Yeah probably a tiered league competition for seconds and reserve teams would be best. 

Yeah they'll be one of the favourites along with Forkhill, Middletown and Ballyhegan. Corrinshego have beaten them already this year and were semi finalists last year so they'll be up there you'd imagine. Playing in the lower division won't benefit  Corrinshego and St. Peters though.

On your second point, I'm all for seconds teams competing in the league system, if anything I'd be encouraging more clubs to do it. But we need to have a properly organised reserve championship that is running at the same time as the other championships  for them to take part in.

I get the points on seconds playing in the lower championships being unfair on other clubs, but if it's graded and policed properly then the lads on those seconds, that's their level and being associated to a senior club without a huge opportunity of getting on the senior squad then they are being denied an opportunity to win a recognised all county trophy.

There was a incident in the Derry Galway game were a Galway player in possession was "ushered" over the sideline by a couple of Derry players. McQullian pointed his flag in favour of the Galway player and indicated a pushing motion with this hands.  I didn't hear if the referee blew his whistle at this point but is it not the linesmans job to indicate which way the line ball is to go and he should not be calling the freekick??

The linesman will advise the ref on off the ball incidents, he will do the line and he may even stand in behind a free and help the umpire on a wide or a point call.. The ref alone decides, he can take advise, but it will be his call

It's his call yes, but the wording in the rule book has changed. Historically the linesman would have called lined decisions and off the ball stuff, but can now alert the ref to any incident the ref may not have seen on or off the ball

But he can't stop play like soccer.. the ref can still regardless of what the linesman says or motions (as in this case) do his own thing

Will Klopp be deemed a successful manager,  Not a great soccer fan, but can only remember winning the premier league. Rescue them from the downward trajectary, will only remember the smile.

Wasn't at the match, had forgotten id (her) had arranged a barbeque, but was following online, didn't see the clash.

Funny enough yesterday game i did I'd 2 unintentional clashes of sticks around the face guard, I gave a yellow for both and explained why, no hassle with it, both players got up fairly quickly and didn't make a meal of it

Seen the Galway players face after the game and he certainly had a cut on his nose, maybe the blood made up his mind? faceguards could be better though, some lads noses are sitting on the wire lol!

Anyway, by the ruling its down to a few factors recklessness with the hurl, intent to strike and so on, you could make an argument to find any decision to send him off. Maybe he was just looking a handy second half 

Was easy enough for City in the end, it's bizarre how some thought it was bizarre that they were favorites 

Its great for the neutrals though....

What are the odds on that?

Clare have been the dominant team in lots of games but seem to be always hanging on in the end, they really don't rack up enough scores that their play merits.
Cork are the opposite, they'll absolutely hammer a team who's slightly off the pace at all, but will then struggle in a tight game against the better teams.

Dublin can consider themselves unlucky on Saturday evening, I watched a lot of that game thanks to GAAGO    and they played some fine hurling, TJ was quiet, Eoin Cody was quiet but John Donnelly stood up and was the difference in the two teams.
Lyng will be desperate to get Mullin back on the park, but two really poor performances on the bounce doesn't auger well for later in the year.

Kilkenny missing a goal getting machine.. all fine and dandy knocking over points, but they are getting caught out with goals against them and not knocking in a few goals themselves.

With Waterford I have no idea which team is going to show up, they could beat Limerick, though I doubt it as Limerick really need to get into championship mode from this point, I've never seen Tipp that bad in my lifetime.

Would be mental if those results Johnnycool came up and Cork were sent packing

Fair play,  and getting it correct was very good umpiring so not all bad.

Hopefully Davy gets a good ban for that mad outburst at the end. When have Waterford made it out of the group stages since it changed?

Nope and hopefully they haven't the distraction of Europe either as they won't be able to use Thursday night football as an excuse that some clubs did this year..

Regardless of how he arrived at the decision, the replay clearly shows that it was the correct one and that's all that matters.

He was yapping that the 65 was not taken behind the 65 yard line! It was taken a yard inside it. He told the linesman and the 3rd official and they decided not to intervene. Still petty!

Yeah he was well inside the 65, poor from officials there imo

He was the size of his foot away from line.. made zero difference, ball sailed clean over bar, players always set the ball a foot in front, yes ref could have moved it back, but the linesman shoulda done that. he was losing it before the 65 btw
