Let's just say their progress has been noted! Two of our best performers in last years narrow under 20 defeat to Donegal on penalties in Ballybofey..
Add Cahir Donnelly and Johnny Hannon to the promising U20 players above, both v impressive in Cargin v Aghagallon game last night. Not a dig, but Aghagallon quite negative throughout which made Johnnys coring performance all the more impressive.

With the team they had out It's difficult to 'open' up against such a talented Cargin team away from home?

I doubt theres many more teams in the county as "deplated" as cargin are at the moment...

I have this bad feeling in my stomach that this is going to be packed defenses and 15 men behind the ball with cross field passing until we're gonna pull our own hairs out. If this happens Armagh can do one, if i've to go back up that road again losing another close game thru defensive football I swear to f**k i'll crack. If we're gonna lose i'd rather have a go at them and play an entertaining  and enjoyable game of football. Take the shackles off and have a rattle at them!.

They are getting better though and I am not sure other teams are. I think you are over estimating St Brigids Caesar as I don't think they are in that group yet. (yes they're going ok in the league but very early stages for that).

Creggan 2+ years ago were the team that could challenge them but seem to have dropped off. If they can get back to their previous level then maybe they can challenge them. Jury still out for PG1 in championship (no offense BS!) too. LD not quite as good now either. They really should have beat them in Corrigan that time but Finucane basically have Cargin 2 goals. Honestly find it hard to see them being beat for a few years with the current lie of things.

Quote from: trueblue1234 on May 08, 2024, 08:32:17 AMAs shown by this thread the big driver to the Tailteann Cup is that it's open for so many to get a run at it. Most of the counties in it could have a say if they get a bit of luck and a run going. We've had Wicklow, Laois, Antrim, Fermanagh, Down, Sligo, Kildare all tipped. If marketed right, this has potential. Makes a big difference from the AI run in!
Potential for a very competitive competition. But it won't be promoted. Will get 2 minutes on the Sunday game and we will only see it  at semi final stage. The GAA don't do promotion unless it's the Munster hurling championship. The 3 games for 30 euro is a good deal. But if your Down a trip to London should maybe be taken out and a 2 games at a tenner each offered.

yep only munster hurling is promoted, and they still whine about it.  Not been in it this year I must say I'm looking forward to this competition more than Dublin run to another all ire

Staff are getting 1 ticket and have to pay £20 for the bus? They have 1,100 staff! as for the dinner, seems that's been a tradition going back to Busby.

I hope they beat Arsenal this weekend  ;D
Man City or any other club gets to a cup final, it's common to give a ticket plus one and pay for lunch and transport on what's a very special occasion. Mean act to take that away from regular staff. I think the problems and imbalance of power at OT will not be sorted out by taking Betsy from the canteen down a peg or two.
Bit of unnecessary chest pumping from the man with the new hat. Lets see how he gets on with the real job.

I'm sure if he is just a minority stakeholder then he'd have a minority call on such things? I'm sure if Betsy isn't happy at work she'll find another canteen to work in
Same choice every other worker has with a scummy employer eh

Quote from: Keyser soze on Today at 09:25:24 AMBit shocked that there has only been one person who has been out selling for his club out of all the purported great gaa men on here.

Plenty of people on to comment and whinge though, sums up the gaaboard perfectly I spose.

I've a couple in the drawer here in work that I get sucked into buying, but hey ho that's needed for all clubs, so when Sean or Paddy comes in for a check up. I'll return the favour  ;)

The scary thing is this is Cargin in transition and yet they are still a step ahead of the rest. The aul boys are being slowly phased out with quality young players already adding their value.

It's certainly not impossible that the likes of Creggan, St Bridget's or PG1 could beat Cargin on a good day, but I suspect anyone waiting on Cargin's dominance coming o an end will be waiting a long time.
