What would be taking you up the road again?

Derry people don't like spending money.

Don't mind spending money, but I do mind being ripped off. Accommodation around Galway, especially if taking a family, is extortionate.
I'll pay my Gaago price before lining the pockets of some hotel or b&b who are sticking the arm in.

They're hardly sticking the arm in because of some fans travelling from Derry that'll number in the low thousands.

You're looking at last minute hotels in the most popular getaway city in the country just when tourist and wedding (stags, hens) season is kicking into gear. If you booked in advance you'd have a chance of getting something reasonable. At a weeks notice? No chance

Government aren't helping matters by filling every hotel bed they can get their hands on with refugees

It is extortionate though and people are being ripped off the length and breadth of the country.

Wicklow seem to have stepped out, given the score Fermanagh got.
I expect the teams relegated and promoted,Fermanagh, Kildare, Down and Westmeath will fancy their chances.

I wouldn't give Westmeath much chance. Be some going to win a competition they're not competing in.

Quote from: whitey on May 11, 2024, 03:33:04 PMI seriously don't know what your question is

Are you saying that people (legal Irish Residents) of low moral character (with criminal convictions) shouldn't be allowed (on principal) to lead protests or are you saying that people (legal Irish citizens) of low moral character (with criminal convictions) should be legally prohibited from leading protests?

In some jurisdictions  you can be prohibited by a court of law from associating with "known criminals" as part of a sentencing agreement. If that, or similar processes are in place in Ireland, then I would expect and demand that the Gardai fully enforce it

Let's start with my 1st Question...

Can you explain to me how you do "rigorous background checks" on someone fleeing a warzone.

What war are the Georgians fleeing from?

The question is for the yank, you can keep your nonsense out of it dumbo

Well my first response was going to be that a large percentage of people seeking international protection were NOT COMING FROM WARZONES, but from countries deemed safe by our own government

But for those fleeing warzones, with just the clothes on their backs, rigorous vetting does becomes more problematic.

The government HAD been telling us that peoples fingerprints were being checked against CRIMINAL databases. This is now proven to be 100% untrue.

The Irish Refugee Council has even amended such verbiage on their website

And would totally explain situations like this:

I don't buy into this Israel second favourites thing at all. It is a giant popularity contest and Israel are about as popular at the moment as a wet summer 10 years in a row. Their song is ok but that won't count for much.
