Quote from: Look-Up! on January 16, 2024, 12:08:41 PMThe All or Nothing series I found very good. Watched a few of them. All the PL ones were good. Enjoyed the Pep one the best. Ice hockey one very good too. Found no problem watching multiple episodes with them.

For drama, Man in High Castle on Prime springs to mind, don't know if you've seen it. Carnival Row was ok.

Such a depressing show. Nothing good ever happens in the first season. There's a one-dimensional sheriff baddie who does my head in. I gave up after Season 1.

Saw The Boys in the Boat recently. Highly recommended.

Jeepers Creepers

Wait until you watch Poor Things. It's completely batshit from start to finish. Weird and disgusting and funny well acted and completely bananas.

I still haven't decided if it's good or bad yet but I'm leaning towards good. I laughed more in shock than humour.

It's worth a look but not for the faint of heart plenty of gore and riding and nudity!

I'm interested to hear anyone else's take on it.

Emma Stone is a shoo in for the Oscar after it.

I'm in!

Agree.

Unwatchable dung.

Speaking of which and one for the death notice thread, Jesse Jane and her boyfriend found dead after an apparent overdose of drugs at their home.

The Holdovers really is a decent show. I had no expectations when I went to see this as I literally didn't know what it was about.  At times it is serious and at times it was laugh out loud funny. Paul Giamatti is excellent.  His character would remind you of his "Chuck" from Billions in some ways, but funnier.

Really enjoyed it. Feel good show. You can understand why it got a few Oscar nominations. One of my favourite films of last couple of years
quit your jibba jabba fool!!

Malcolm X, 3hr 30mins, watching it in stages, I'll finish now cus I've started but what a ball of shite.

Malcolm X is a terrific movie.

Thoroughly enjoyed American Fiction. Jeffrey Wright is outstanding in it.

Looking forward, albeit quite uncomfortably from everything I've read and heard, to The Zone of Interest.
