Anyone for John Wick 2?  ???

Certainly am. loved the 1st one.

Loved the first one too.  Manchester By The Sea any good?

I thought it was very good.
It has had good reviews. A lot of good screeners about for these movies on Kodi etc at the minute?

Any views on passengers ?  Is it worth a watch ? Hasn't gone down well with critics.

Some of ye could have answered and saved me the last two hours

Had it down for this weekend, is it to be avoided then?

Visually it's good but the plot lacks thrills/ suspense. I seen somewhere it's was described as titanic in space .. which for me sums it up.
I'm trying to decide on a really meaningful message..

Haven't seen Trainspotting. Would you need to in order to see Trainspotting 2?

I haven't seen T2 but any review I've read or heard has clearly said it relies heavily on the first so you would need to see it before taking on the second.

Either way you should have watched the original Trainspotting by this stage!! It's superb!!

I'd expect so, to get the full value of T2! The main characters are in both.

Watched Captain Philips. Good movie with a couple excellent performances. Also watched Green Room which is a violent thriller. However it is excellent.

I was puzzled by how easy it was for the pirates to initially board the vessel.

One of the hoses broke.

ONeill

Watched Arrival twice. It's a mind-bender. Once you get your head around non-linear time then you have to consider the decision she made at the end. Plenty of cringey flaws but I liked it a quare bit.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Canalman

Seen T2 at the weekend. Ok as a film in itself, much better because it is  an add on to the original if that makes sense. Glad I went to see it .

Fences. I personally thought it was very good with some cracking performances.  The wife on the other hand, hated it... so there ya go.

It's been my favorite so far regarding award season films, thought Denzil was outstanding in it .. still predicting oscar win for it, thou it has not won any of the other awards yet (globes/bafta etc$

Perfectly summarised.

I can't imagine anyone that didn't see the original back in the day will enjoy the new one that much.

Unashamedly nostalgic which I, for once, loved.

Longshanks

Watched Hacksaw Ridge at the weekend, thought it was great and stuck very closely to the true story which makes it all the more amazing. the war scenes are among the best I have seen since saving private ryan if not better.
Personally think Mel Gibson should get oscar for best director for it, no fan of la la land.

Always think true sign of a great film is one you would watch again and also would it be as good in 15-20 years and la la land doesn't do it for me in either.

Viola Davis won a bafta for her performance in fences.

True but for a supporting role, don't know why she's not in leading actress catergory..
Meant to say they haven't won anything in the big 5.

Watched Suicide Squad the weekend. I enjoyed it. If it had a proper villain would have being excellent.
