Youse need to wise up.

Just because there's not títs in it, not even a wee ewe (pronounced 'yoo' in the glens) for you to ogle,

Well said Johnny, all that man is interested in is Tits and Tractors (and Curry Chips).
Banged to rights and you two are a perfect pair of tits.

Any film with a dodgy Irish accent goes straight to the bin.

Anyone sat through Irving Welshes 'Filth' last night, rare show to say the least, but not unexpected as I'd read his book 'Acid House' years ago.

Strangely intriguing was how I'd put it.

Saw Fury last night.

Very Saving Private Ryanesque.  Horrifying combat scenes. A little island of domestic normality halfway through suddenly gets very tense. The biblical theme is laid on a bit thick, but still a good show, if a little far fetched towards the end.

Can't say too much without spoiling it.

Lock, stock is a good show with plenty of entertainment.

Snatch is shite rolled through the dirt.

Just saw Whiplash. Gripping stuff, and a stunning ending. If you absolutely can't stand jazz then it might not be your thing, but if you don't mind it then it's worth a look.

Watched Gone Girl last night. Enjoyable if a little bonkers in final third.

filth is one of my fav books, pretty much impossible to catch fully in a film, but they done a good job, its one of them movies that is impossible to get unless you have read the book imo. McAvoy plays the lead role pretty well. same rules apply.

Capt Pat

Fury was a great war movie.

9 out of 10.

Seen Shame last night, well to be accurate the first 30 mnutes of it or so before switching off.

Keep an eye out for Adventureland on RTE I think next Friday night. Excellent and charming film.

Was very long indeed. Plenty could have been cut. Classic case of grasp exceeding reach I think.

Main Street

Danish tv movies The Keeper of Lost Causes  based on the book by Jussi Olsen, adapted down to 90 minutes.
I think they did an okay job,  a decent  film noir atmosphere which allowed for stripped bare minimalism, an art in itself
Though I don't know how someone who hadn't read the book would follow the action or appreciate the whole drama.
One change I took exception to was Assad being deliberately dumbed down and Carl, the good white danish cop, being made smarter than him.

Brick Tamlin

Long Walk to Freedom, film based on Mandela's Biography.
Very interested in the man and his history but just didn't think the film was great at all. Idris Elba was able and did fine job portraying him, accent, mannerisms etc.
Just think they left large gaps and didn't delve into some of the juicier happenings enough. Not enough about his time and suffering on Robben Island and not enough told about how his relationship with Winnie disintegrated. Only paid lip service to major occurrences that occurred at the time.
I know its a totally different film but enjoyed Invictus a lot more than this.

6.5 / 10

Walter Cronc

Anyone seen Nightcrawler? Jake Gyllenhaal's new movie. Getting good ratings!
