It's not just about America it's the whole feeling and buzz around a club added to players not training at the same intensity that championship aspirations fuel.

Late Championship - 2

For the good of our clubs I hope the county board takes heed.

I'm as big club man as anyone else but I'm also as big a county man. Now for both to be successful there has to be compromise somewhere.despite the u21 causing a minor hiccup the league were run off as scheduled. With Tyrone seniors  getting to the semi final, this would have left little or no room for replays in the champ if the first round hadn't have been played early.

The issue with the minors not being allowed to play is not Tyrone county boards fault. I think they voted to address this at congress

Finally is it not better for Clonoe to get beat by the island at the start of the summer rather than at the end of it. At least it give the lads a chane to head to the states rather than to listen Cassidy fill them full of hot air

You seem to depise anything to do with the county. At your next club meeting you are free to go in and suggest that clonoe stop providing players to Tyrone teams. See were that gets you
Where in any post have I ever knocked our county team, I won't apologise for defending club football ahead of county thou as 98% of players are club players.  How any one can defend playing club championship 1st round in late may after four league games is simple beyond me. The eight other counties in Ulster play theirs in August. However you cannot defend a county board that is county orienated, that's as obvious as the nose on your head.

Early 5 5. There's some idiots on here who think there opinion is better than everyone's and that they can personally abuse hard working volunteers. I can see both sides of the arguments.

If you look at the top 4 in division one the early championship didn't have that big an impact there on the clubs knocked out. To me the late finish ends up involving fixtures being throw together at the last minute with little build up. Also it leads to cramped championship fixtures and little prep for ulster for the winners.

There were 40 sanctions to America last year affecting all Clubs. At a glance around half of these had clubs who advanced past the first round of the C'ship e.g Dromore, Derrylaughan, Greencastle.

Apologies for the cut and paste job below.

Degrassi Hi

6-6

Championship to be run off after Tyrone exit or win All Ireland. One reason being that Tyrone clubs aren't in the preliminary round of Ulster this year and secondly for players/coaches to peak for a first round in May then again in September for a second round is bound to be hard to manage.
Raising funds would appear to be the motivation behind this early start and I'd say I wouldn't have been the only one to raise an eyebrow at the way last year's first round "draw" was arrived at.

7 6 late. County meddling too much in club business. Unacceptable.
