Oh yeah the old "he doesent have his own players", what manager does when he takes over ? You are always going to be inheriting players, some you want and some you don't. Surely if a manager is a "great" he can work with what he has and maximise the players at his disposal

"Lack of European football" - such bull. United have been playing poor sides in the Europa league that they (should) have handled easily. This is Manchester United and remember - he let 3 first team players go since January. It's bullshit.

Also - Mourinho failed to win a CL with Chelsea and Real Madrid. His two triumphs were with underdog outfits largely due to good defending, tactics and workrate. And probably complacency of their opponents. He was sacked by Abramovich for lack of style the first time and lost the dressing room (and a lot of cash) due to his ridiculous and scandalous  carry on with the Doctor last season.

Heroic draw tonight to match LVG's points total of last season with a game to spare. Difference in the league this season is (a) Leicester have reverted to the norm and the top sides mostly got extra points there and (b) Chelsea players have a manager they respect and work for and (c) Liverpool had no European games and they have a thin squad as the African Nations cup proved.

United have not improved at all. Ibrahimovic' goals papered over a lot of cracks.

You don't like him thats very clear but you're downplaying his achievements far too much, winning a European Cup with Porto is a phenomenal achievement and he backed it up winning another with Inter beating the great Barca team along the way. He was very unlucky not to win one with Chelsea too. Fergie only won 2 if you want to look at it that way and he had great teams for 20 years.

Its only in the last month the football has been poor to watch, prior to that I'd looked forward to games all season and that didn't happen at all last season. If we have a season like this next season then he deserves to be criticised but the way he's getting hammered in the media is way over the top.

Games disrupt preparation and when you've inherited a squad where only 4 players are Mourinho's that makes the task even more difficult. He will find it easier to deal with next season once he's got more of his players in.

He didn't even get Chelsea to the final of the Champions League. How was he unlucky not to win one with them??

Depends on what he's inheriting, you do realise United have been woeful in the league in the 3 years prior to Mourinho arriving? If he wins next Wednesday 2 trophies in his first year represents a good return for his first season.

He lost 2 semi finals one on pens and one on to a dodgy goal and in his other season he lost out to Barca who went on to win it.

Simeone's results at AM with the competition they face and their budget are phenomenal. For me it makes him the most effective manager in Europe over the last five years. However, don't be under be under any illusions about the football he plays - it's turgid sh*t based on a water tight defence and counter attacking efficiency.

Have to say Mourinho s whining over the last few weeks is pathetic.The latest whinge around asking Palace to go easy on them, regardless of how serious he was is an embarrassment for a club of United's stature.

I never liked him at Chelsea but had a grudging respect for what he achieved and you knew his media sound bites there were designed to deflect attention.  At United it seems to be a complete "poor me" mentality to deflect from his "achievement" of winning less league games than any other United manager for a quarter of a century.  Given the resources at his disposal that just doesn't wash, especially when you consider the dross he has served up for much of the year. . A Europa league title might mean the end justified the mean but I tend to agree with Seanie on a lot of his observations.

The less astute United fans will give him a by ball and let him start afresh next year when the reality is that if he doesn't win the UEFA cup the season has been no better or worse than Moyes or LVG!!

Mourinho took over a team built by LVG possibly the worst manager in utds history. Go back to your Liverpool thread and talk about 27 years without a title and how Mourinho is in the verge of winning more in his 1st season at utd than  Liverpool have in 10 years.

I'd say if  you guys were supporting utd in 80s you were calling for fergie head also. But most of you probably only followed them since they became successful. What will you bitch about next week if Utd win the uefa cup? Ticket prices? Or does that affect your armchair supporting.
