GAA Discussion / Archive NFL/NHL Results
March 02, 2018, 03:32:53 PM
Would anyone know if there is a place that houses all the results for the NFL and NHL matches since inception? There has to be some sort of archive service out there!

Many Thanks

GAA Discussion / Michael McDermott - Longford Manager
October 10, 2013, 05:38:36 PM
Can anyone enlighten me on the extent of this mans managerial capabilities? He brought Kilmurray to a club final, Clare to a Munster final but what else. Certainly a strange choice , considering the names that were interviewed.
I'm beginning to think Parkinson was right when he said there's a lot of profile managers who are clearly very good at interview stage.

A first meeting , hopefully we can get through this one LK lost a challenge game heavily to Galway last weekend. They have a decent qualifier history.

So we are down to the last 8 in Leinster. Without thinking too far  ahead the winners don't play again for 5 weeks. How crazy is the fixtures list? Yellow bellies are favorites but it'll be a close one.

GAA Discussion / Stop Crying Mickey Harte
March 30, 2010, 12:28:38 PM
Is Mickey Harte turning into a grumpy old man or what? For the past couple of years he has done nothing but complain about everything. He's a decent bloke with and impeccable record as a manager but for Gods sake Mickey a shut mouth catches no flies. The neutral support that Tyrone has had over the last number of years is a drifting as a result.

GAA Discussion / Give us a Quiz.......
December 15, 2009, 03:16:17 PM
The old Hogan Stand have decided not to do their annual GAA quiz this year  :'( For the last few years we have brought this quiz to the pub after work (and sometimes during work!) as the year end approached. It has led to numerous arguments and long debates and so much fun.
Any idea where a few GAA diehards could get their year end quiz-fix ?

GAA Discussion / Longford v Kerry
July 05, 2009, 10:17:08 PM
Well then.........have LD any hope? The great weekend that we had in 2006 in Killarney will live long in the memory but Donaghy in the first 15 mins destroyed us and the Star was born. Otherwise we gave a right good account of ourselves. For next week who knows , the LD team is much the same as back then but the have gone back. It will be a packed ground 20,000 or so with a great atmosphere and sure we have nothing to loose. Dubs just escaped from it and Derry got caught out!If your from Kerry book your accomodation early..........we dont have that much of it :)

GAA Discussion / Top Scorer - Football
January 26, 2009, 05:06:49 PM
Maybe some of you can settle a bet for me. Who is the all-time top scorer in the All-Ireland Football Championship? Eddie Keher is tops in hurling but what about the footie.

GAA Discussion / Minor Club Formations
October 13, 2008, 05:23:35 PM
I'm wondering if any of you could help me with something. We have a minor club in Longford called Northern Gaels who won this years minor championship for the very first time. They were formed in the early 80's, where two junior clubs came together cause neither could field teams in underage championships and they only played in 9-a-side and 13-a-side leagues. They are not an amalgamation, but a fully formed club in the eyes of the association. As it turns out both clubs have benefitted from the move where they are now Senior sides in Longford and one of the clubs has won two senior championships for the first time also.
Now that they have won a championship at minor level , all the other clubs are kicking up stink about them. Let me remind you one championship at minor level in more than 25 years. Can you tell me if there are any such clubs in existence in your county? Not amalgamations as you often see , but where two adult clubs join together for underage activity as one fully consituted club.
I'd apprciate your comments.
