Thought saltburn was a bit shit. Some good acting though.

Haven't seen it.

I read that it was basically a rehash of his stand-up act - grumpy middle-aged man, struggling to deal with the changing mores of the younger generations.

Yeah pretty much with a bit of the same old relationship story told in every movie. Couple of funny bits but certainly no classic.

I watched Florence Foster Johnson on Amazon Prime.

Have to say I really enjoyed it. I could see it being marmite though. Keoghan is brilliant in it. What a f>cked up character.

I quite enjoyed it too, I know Keoghan getting a bit of stick about the accent every once in a while, but he did the creepy thing very well.

Watched Gladiator last night, was on ITV. It ages well.

Believe there's a sequel coming out with the Irish actor as the main part

I liked Saltburn too, expected it to be crap. The actor playing the main character has a strange, creepy look to him that was perfect for this character. Still, some weird scenes in it.

Saw Leave the World Behind over the weekend. Thought it was excellent. Ended a bit abruptly, but once you think about it, probably the right way to end it.

Don't get some of these boys started about that ending - they need everything wrapped in a bow in case they have to think for themselves.  ;)

Went to see the Ferrari movie at Christmas. 10% of it is about the racing mostly in the 50s. The rest is about mistresses, wives and illegitimate sons and all the ramifications. Very disappointing as was Oppenheimer TBH. Only decent movie I seen this year was "killers of the flower moon"

Quality has shifted to the series format now, I am currently watching "Slow Horses" which is great entertainment.

I thought it was quirky, interesting enough and enjoyed the soundtrack, but I'm not quite sure wtf it was trying to say.

If it was simply a zany critique of the class system, the "twist" was all a bit pointless and unnecessary. Not sure there was any artistic merit in any of the particularly shocking scenes or if they added anything to either character or story.

Watched this today, really enjoyed it. A lot of scenes with Carey mulligan were funny, intentional or not. It reminded me of the Talented Mr Ripley. Barry Keoghan has been in the gym.

Didn't get watching much over the Christmas break apart from few Xmas movies with the kids but looking forward to watching killers of the flowers moon once kids are pilled away to school again.

*Just on the Christmas movies, I managed to watch some howlers, but special mention has to go to Candy cane lane.
