How did the Toome by pass and the new Dungiven to Derry road get built?

There would have been environmental issues there also.

Because the A5 has been labelled a Fenian road linking Derry to Dublin by bitter hardline Unionists and they use whatever vehicle to get it stopped from happening. The other roads served their internal Norn Iron needs.

Shameful stuff altogether

What a joke.

Last time I was out by Omagh I saw a lot of fencing up in fields on the Dromore Road so I had assumed today would just be a formality, obviously not.  I even think contractors had recruited staff and everything.

No doubt about it. The calibre of the few objectors: put it like this, they'll be busy walking the roads 12th July..
For the judge to say this: shocking!
Justice McAlinden:
"It is likely that delays in the progression of this scheme will coincide with the occurrence of further loss of life and serious injury on the existing road".

Contractors have recruited a lot of staff, there's a few hundred working since last year on the ground and behind the scenes. Structural design, temporary works design and contract packages are all in place.

It's a significant blow yet again to all the local sub contractors who have been promised a piece of this work for years now. They could start earthworks at the end of the week if needed now it's a case of counting the money wasted again. Its always hard to know how it will go when you try building something west of lough neagh

1.2 Billion then goes into the schools and hospitals?
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Going by the judges ruling the blame lies with the DFI
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

No doubt M O'N will make a statement rightly criticising the ruling, would imagine EPG will keep her powder dry though.

Shameful. I heard a description of the objectors way back in 2008 .They see it literally and metaphorically as the road to Dublin. Nothing else to say

But you'd think this isn't the end of it?

How would they fix the issues brought up?

Similar to Casement.

Go through it again. Tidy things up etc.
