Maybe the Leinster academy should produce and then divvy out players to the other provinces?

Surely Cullen must be moved on now.

Barrett not starting is poor management.

Bernard Jackman saying "there's only so much learnings" that Leinster can take. To me, that's code for Cullen to move on.

Just seeing now Pollock try. No effort at all was put in to tackle him, awful effort. Unless Sam learns to tackle he should be nowhere near the Irish team, u can't carry a passenger in a defensive capacity. Every team will go straight at him in future@

Sam will be on the team because he is the Leinster poster child. Form and ability are not important.

Leinster used over 50 players in the champions cup. They have too many
players.

Not a rugby expert by any stretch but is the Lions Tour not ultimately just a few challenge matches.

It been going on since 4 years after the GAA was started, I think the tradition of it keeps it up there as a great sporting event in the rugby timetable, in challenge games there's a bit fight but generally it peter's out well before the end, this doesn't.. Not too many challenge series games get sold out also..

That said I wouldn't be watching a lot of it unless it fits in with my own timetable. But there is a fair few that will
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

The GAA could learn a lot about how rugby are able to market it.

I'm not sure.

The value of the competition - in terms of importance to those who are involved - long predates any marketing initiative.

It's not a career highlight for a player because Sky /O2 / Guinness say so. It's a career highlight because it's what Willie John McBride, Phil Bennett, JPR, Gavin Hastings, Brian O'Driscoll, Martin Johnson, Syd Millar, Keith Wood, Barry John and a hundred other greats of the game have made it so.

In this regard it's like a golf major. Nobody owns the right to what is a major in golf. But we all know what they are and while marketing helps maintain that position, it didn't and couldn't create it.

12 Leinster players make the British Lions squad. Big celebrations in Dublin 4 this evening.

No Prendergast which I think is a mistake. He's not first choice but he certainly a better bolter as a no.10 than Marcus.
Fantasy Rugby World Cup Champion 2011,
Fantasy 6 Nations Champion 2014

Prendergast is miles behind Russell and Fin Smith. At least Marcus is versatile.

All that is true but like alot of things in rugby it doesn't make logical sense.

It's like Armagh Donegal Tyrone and Derry getting a team together to play in 3 tests against Galway or Mayo.

It isn't really. The Southern hemisphere teams need the money that 6N teams generate when they tour. They have the talent but they don't have the cash. GAA doesn't have hemispheres.

That may be true.

But I'm talking from a sporting point a view it doesn't make sense.

Plus I've no issues with Northern Hemisphere teams touring South Africa or New Zealand etc. on their own. I actually like that concept.

But amalgamating 4 teams to play a struggling Australia on their knees I just don't get it.
