Quote from: tiempo on April 08, 2025, 12:59:26 PMAt 23yo Martinelli has plenty of time to raise another level or 2, a drop off was to be expected to some extent, but at a base level its mired in Artera's stifling style of play that gives him no creative freedom, a workhorse winger in the mould of Grealish throughout the treble run

I enjoy the episodes when so called big teams (Arsenal, Utd, whoever) park the bus, after crying about it when lesser teams do it to them, expect nothing less tonight

Arsenal would snap your hand off for 2 0-0s and a penalty shoot-out right now

In fact I think Arteta would accept some sort of stoic moral victory and any non-hammering across the 2 legs

The time has long gone for moral victories. Arteta has had 5 years now and the trophy cabinet is bare. 1 FA Cup in 2020 and 2 community shields is just not good enough. This is Arsenal's last chance of silverware this season. If they don't win, Arteta's position will come under serious pressure from both the owner and the fans.
Never underestimate the power of complaining

-Tiempo you are entitled to think this but I cannot imagine any football manager at the highest level accepting a moral victory or non-hammering.
This is Arsenal's last chance of silverware this season. If they don't win, Arteta's position will come under serious pressure from both the owner and the fans
-If Arsenal dont win anything this season then Arteta's position should be reviewed, though the lack of alternatives would suggest he is safe enough.

Arsenal's current form isn't great but if they lift it a bit attacking wise and whatever back four is selected can keep things together I am not without hope over the two legs.

Haven't seen you post on the thread before, can see it was a while ago so thought you were a WUM.

And agree with quit yo jibbajabba.. Be stupid to get rid of Arteta, not his fault board wouldn't spend in January. Arteta isn't under pressure from anyone except the idiots on AFTV and those who listen to it.

Calling someone a WUM seems to be the buzz word from triggered posters on here for giving a different opinion than their own.

You also left out £600 million plus Arteta has spent since he was appointed and with that amount spent he should have sorted out the areas in the team that needed improvement.

Moral victory over two legs is utter nonsense. Its a tie to win against a Real Madrid team in less than great form having drawn 4-4 and lost to 2-1 at home to Valencia,Real Sociedad.

Fair fucks to Arsenal.

That was impressive!

The real test of their worth will be next week in the bear pit.

It will be hot and heavy but they'll squeeze through

superb result for them last night. Cant see why they don't go on to win it now

Jim Bob

Arsenal won't get rid of Arteta but it's inevitable he ll end up at either Real Madrid or Barcelona. Once one of them decide he's their man then I feel he ll find it impossible to turn down. Could come soon enough

Yeh he's a future Barca or Madrid manager for sure. hopefully we can keep a hold of him and after that result last night the board loosen the purse strings for the summer.

Alonso will be away to Madrid in the summer so at least they won't be sniffing around Mikel for a while

Certainly have a good chance but the likes of PSG, Barca and Inter might have something to say.

ONeill

What team do you play at the weekend?

Tierney, White, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Sterling, Nwaneri, Senderos and Jeffers.
