just back from philadelphia. i flew from dublin to newark (new jersey) with continental. they were ok. newark is easy to get to from philly, about an hour north on the train. there is a train station at newark airport. new jersey transit train takes you straight to trenton in north philly for about $14 (the get a connection to city centre). the amtrak service takes you straight to 30th st station in centre city but its more expensive.

not sure what about direct flights. newark worked out fine for me.

As Behind the Wire stated :

Go via Newark (Continental) and get the train - alot cheaper

Try US Airlines if you want to go direct
