The young fella has asked Santa for a hurley (he's 8). No problem here, he has one thats a bit small and another can be got in lifestyle sports. However, the ones in lifestlye don't have a tip on them. Me being from big ball land, I have absolutely no contact with any hurling club, the young fella just likes to puck a ball about on the green when the notion takes him. Can any of you advise me as to where I might get one with a metal tip on it??
Are you in Louth?? Have posted a list of Hurley makers around Tipp and a few counties near Tipp. They might be worth a call and they might post a hurley up to you. I know they post them to America and Oz so why not Louth. They would all have 'hoops' on them and no harm to double check when ordering. Might cost abouyt €20 when ordering. I'd stay away from the lifestyle sports hurleys, I know they are handy in a situation where you just want a stick but they are terrible and they only way to get good is to have a good hurley.
If there's a hurling club where you are maybe some of the oder lads might have a few hurleys that they grew out of and no longer need that they could pass on?
