Option 4: Play stand alone final at provincial venue convenient to both teams?

Option 5: Play finals before all Ireland final?

Just putting this up to see what the people really think!
Did U18 provide a better competition than the current U17?
And what are people's views on the final, stand-alone as is the new norm? At croker on all Ireland final day like it used to be? Or before one of the all Ireland semi-finals?
Fwiw i'd actually like to see the tailteann final played on all Ireland final day and play minor and u20 finals ahead of the all Ireland semi-finals.
2026 GAA Congress - Motion 7❌
To have All-Ireland MFC and MHC finals return to Croke Park before the respective senior finals DEFEATED with 15.8% of the vote.
Put it on before the All Ireland final
And let Michéal O'Se do the commentary As Gaeilge again. His voice was synonymous with minor semi and final day.
Personally I used to love seeing the minor game before the All Ireland Final and was always amazed that more than half the punters couldn't be arsed going in on time to watch it and spot the next big star.
When the minor final was on before the senior final, what was the breakdown in ticket allocation between the 4 teams?

Last U18 final in Croke Park was 2017 Derry v Kerry 2,045 tickets each county got.

I was on a minor panel that got to the final and the senior players (who didn't get to the final) got more tickets than the minor players did.

And the relevance of that in a poll to assess what ordinary gaa members and those interested enough to read this board think is what exactly?

And I wouldn't want to presume that you didn't go on and have a stellar intercounty career, but how does that achievement and experience rank in your gaa career and hell, as a life experience?

It was mixed to be honest. Great experience being part of all that and cherished memories for everyone involved. There was bad parts too that young ones aren't really ready to deal with - but are part of every sport. It was very strict with 24 togged out so a few of us, and I was one of them, felt completely isolated from the match experience on the day.
The ticket thing was a complete pain for young lads that didn't need to be dealing with. I can see why a stand alone day is good for that.
The last minor final I saw before the senior game was the hurling a few years ago and I noticed how young the lads looked - that was early days of the U17s.
