Anyone know what the Meath penalty was for?
Must've been dissent? If so should it only have been a 14 yard free rather than a penalty?
Seems Louth have a handy side this year.
Could take some stopping.
We certainly weren't in the position to do so last night.
Meath 0-19

Louth into another u20 final.
Fair play to louth, Seniors holding their own in div 2 and with good players coming through from this and last years U20s they could possibly push on and play in division 1 in the years ahead. Dublin meanwhile have gone five straight years without winning a Leinster U20 title.
All the massive funding Dublin get and they still lose to Louth!
If Louth could get a Leinster U20 title at least under their belt they could really kick on at senior level.
What's the story with their new ground ? Great interest there presently but unfortunately no decent home ground.
Dublin beat Louth at minor 3 years ago 5-14 to 1-1.

Wonder does Gavin Devlin get any credit for Louths upturn.
I know he's over the academy in Louth but maybe it's too soon for any the upturn in fortunes to be credited to him

Interesting but not many left from looking at how many players started then and again tonight
Tonights team
T Markey; P Tinnelly, C McKeown, M Reid; T McDonnell, K Martin, C McGinty; S Callaghan, J Maguire; D Dorian, S Lennon, C MacCriosta; A Gillespie, Tony McDonnell, P Grimes Murphy.
Subs: D Shevlin for Tony McDonnell (53), DD Reilly for J Maguire (61).
Louth have struggled for years at development squad level and into minor age groups.
A lot of counties persist with these players but Louth have looked at others making waves or late bloomers in club football and it's helped. Devlin has helped but early days for him. Getting coaches and clubs to step up is key and this will feed into teams at all levels.
Massive win last night and great to see consistency from year on year, county like Louth needs that, no good one age group making a final and then not been seen competing again for years. It's a numbers age to get players though.

Unreal. Well done..They play Mayo now?
I think Louth are a perfect example of what can be achieved when you get enough good people interested and invested in improving standards within a county.
A special committee – comprising, among others, ex-Louth boss Wayne Kierans, Paul Gallagher, Ciarán Sloan and Peter Dooley plotted and created over the last couple of years a pathway for the county at development squad level- identifying a preferred style of play and looking at ways to expand a high performance culture. Devlin was then added to the ticket last year and has been central to its implementation and helping move Louth underage football in the right direction. Laois and other Leinster counties do well to learn from this. Laois underage football has regressed badly the last few years. If you standstill you will fall behind as the likes of Kildare, Meath, Dublin and Louth continue to improve their underage structures year on year.
Delighted for Louth, hopefully they can go on now and win the senior.
U17 Quarter final results from tonight
Louth 3-16 Westmeath 3-12
Meath 2-14 Offaly 4-11
They join Kildare and Dublin in the semi finals
I was more confident of the U20's winning than i am for the seniors. Minors were disappointing this year all along but hopefully a bit stronger next year.
Well done to Louth and Offaly.

Were there many lads a around from the all Ireland u17 winners juice? They were a great team that pipped us in great final in 2021.

The number 8 for louth is taller and more physical looking than some of their Seniors.
Offaly and Kildare level with 9 minutes left.
A 4th goal for Offaly to put them two in front with 5 minutes left. Level again into 4 mins of added time Offaly 4-7 Kildare 1-16.
Long range free from the Offaly Goalkeeper wins it. 4-9 to 1-16.
In the other game half time Dublin 1-7 Louth 1-8. Louth lead out to 6 points with 20 minutes to go.
Great few weeks for Louth football.
Looking good for louth 2-14 to 1-7 ahead. The young dubs haven't scored for 20 minutes.
FT Louth 2-17 Dublin 1-8. Louth's last minor Leinster win was 1953 and for Offaly 1989.

Gavin Devlin appointed director of underage football in Louth this year... Has he had any impact or just coincidence?
Louth is a county teeming with soccer heads. This new run of success is a great boost for the GAA there.
Good opening 5 minutes in the Leinster U17 final live on TG4. Offaly 1-1 Louth 0-2
Half time Louth 0-11 Offaly 1-6.
Colin Kelly young lad is fine a freetaker. 3 two pointers off the ground. He is only 15.
Goal for Offaly sides are level. 2-6 to 0-12.
Louth lead again by 3. A point effort that dropped into the net. Good ball and fine finish for a 2nd Louth goal 2-12 to 2-7 they lead.
50 mins Louth 2-13 Offaly 2-12. 3rd Louth goal from a penalty they lead by 4.
Very entertaining game, Offaly possibly should have been awarded a penalty there.
58 mins played Louth 3-13 Offaly 2-14. Level with a two pointer. Louth back in front again. Offaly two pointer from a free go back in front again two minutes of added time left.
Full time Offaly 2-20 Louth 3-14
That last one, shoulder to shoulder and side to side, how's it even a free, foreby a red.
Huge age gap between McNamee and his older Alan who is 44.
Fantastic game... offaly keeper balls of steel
Well done to Offaly. Brilliant comeback, were 5 down at one stage and win by 3.
Well done Offaly, some kicking by the keeper. An unfortunate red card at the end, I initially thought it was shoulder to head but the replay showed it was shoulder to shoulder.
Somebody call a ambulance, you think the manager went 60mins there.
Some win for Offaly considering the early stages of Leinster where they looked off the standard.
Even this evening Offaly were playing 2nd fiddle to a bigger and gym hardened set of units from Louth.
Which was similar to the Kildare semi final where again Offaly had to live off scraps.
Some nerves from Jack Ryan to nail consecutive two pointers. They red card foul was frontal and illegal. Maybe a harsh red, but still a bad challenge.
Dublin beat Wexford 1-18 to 1-15 in u20s tonight and win in minor against Offaly 3-14 to 1-13 last night.

Half-time Louth 1-8 Kildare 0-12
Full-time Louth 1-18 Kildare 0-23
Really good game of football last night. Some very decent players on both sides. Kildare finished that bit stronger and deserved their win. Back out next Wednesday against Tyrone?
Good attacking game. The defending was poor enough on both teams. Kildare passed it around a couple of times for over a minute to work a score without any pressure from Louth.
Half time in the two Minor semi-finals
Louth 0-5 Kildare 0-5
Dublin 1-3 Meath 2-4

Results
Kildare 1-11 Louth 0-10
Meath 2-14 Dublin 2-8
Meath get the win in the end Meath 2-14 Dublin 2-8 Scoreline a small bit flattering to Meath - was tight enough until the last few minutes. Meath Centre-back kicked a monster 2 pointer as the decisive score before Meath added on a few more points in the closing munutes to widen the winning margin when Dublin had thrown caution to the wind chasing the game. Some nice footballers on both sides.
Thought the standard was poor enough, Dublin in particular. We made hard work of it and shot selection was poor for the most part. We were the better team overall and stronger in the middle and moved the ball well out of defence for the most part but there was some very sloppy passages of play that would get punished by better teams when trying to clear out from defence. We also kept going for 2 pointers and rushed a few shots that weren't on.
On the positive side Liam O'Donaghue looks like a great prospect, as is Milo Stafford. Showed good composure and ability to control the game to get ourselves back into the lead and see it out, drawing out the Dublin defence to create a bit of space and kill the game off.
Kildare will be favourites though in the final, though from what I've heard Louth left a good few scores behind them.
Looking forward to tonight's minor final. We've improved since we last played Kildare but we played some poor opposition so hard to judge if we've closed the gap. Kildare have been the best team in Leinster so far but hopefully we can match them and cut out the silly mistakes we made against Dublin.
Game is on TG4 at 07:30
We're trying to work goals and it's not happening. We need to try 2 pointers to draw them out first.
Even game though. Kildare countering well and getting the scores easier. We need to stop trying to work goals.
Half time in the U17 final.
Kildare 0-8 Meath 1-5
We have the wind now. Need to drive on now. McGuirk, O'Donaghue and Niall Smyth have been the stand out players for us.
Meath no 5 & 6 are fine footballers.
Result. Meath 1-11 Kildare 1-11. 1-1 in added time for Kildare.
That free in buid up to Kildare goal was very soft.
Gutted with that finish. We were the better team in the second half. Should have seen that out. Should have gone short after conceding the goal and just play keep ball.
Anyone's game still
Result AET Meath 1-16 Kildare 2-13. Penalty shoot-out to find a winner.
Bloody hell. What a finish. Thought we'd done it.
Brilliant game of football.
Yeah to be fair it's been great. Fingers and toes crossed now.
Kildare win on penalties.
Gutted for them. They were great and some turn around in form after a poor start to the competition. We have another shot at it and we can at least get to a semifinal if we gather ourselves. Some really good players in that team.
