Anyone spot the ex GAA star who was one of the people featuerd on the "quality of life" feature on Prime Time last night ?!?!
Cork Fullback from 1995??
Correct - captained that team if i am not mistaken. Doing well for himself financially
Was he not in the army then?
Mark o'connor?
Mark O'Connor yes. Was a captain in the army in '95 as far as i know
Remember Jayo giving him a tough time.
But Jayo bounced the ball twice for the goal! :-[
How can people let this go! It was only 12 years ago and already the records have dropped the asterisk next to the goal.
Saw a statistic on that show, I believe it said that Ireland is the second richest nation in the world. Is this correct or was the survey skewed in a way to make it look like it is ?

this is a tricky one, if you leave out the Luxembourg's, Bermudas and other small tax havens and oil producers then GDP per capita is not far off second place

but GDP overstates things, on better measures we are probably about 9th place
