These Ranger fans, tut tut
Parliamentary speak for "so what" is what?
He is in with a great chance of taking Willie Frazer's title of Village Idiot, mind you wee Sammy is in with a shout also.
Must be the most petty excuse ever not to engage and that's saying something.
Hold on.
The UUP, Alliance and the SDLP are the PARTNERS IN GOVERNMENT of Sinn Fein and the DUP.
The 'so what' wasn't in relation to the sacking of a nurse or the putting up of a few flegs by Sammy, it was about a hugely important policy announcement which is going to cost the taxpayer half a BILLION quid!
Saying 'so what' might only be a phrase that people use day to day, but it betrays a huge lack of respect in the Executive and is certainly something SF should distance itself from. After all, 50% of the population voted for the other parties. Show a lack of respect for their elected representatives and you show a lack of respect to the people too.
Yes.But if unionists could devise a system (which thankfully they can't) which would exclude Sinn Fein from the Executive altogether they would.Give Respect Get Respect.
You do realise that SFs senior partner in government are a unionist party?
And anyway, it showed a lack of respect for the SDLP and Alliance too.
They are hardly willing partners.Anyway political parties showing disrespect for rivals, that's a novelty ::)
At election time, yes rivals. In government, supposed partners.
SF and the DUP are not the only parties in government. Making key policy decisions without the other governing parties is undemocratic and does little for relations within the Executive.
"Be careful how you treat people on your way up as you will meet them on your way back down".
Tonto, have unionist parties ever shown any respect to minority parties?Mike Nesbitt is a complete and utter clown. Suck it up as they say.
So this is the shared future. Sign me up.
Can't be bothered with this argument. If you don't have the mental faculties to comprehend why other parties feel sidelined by the DUP and SF in the apparently power-sharing executive, then there is no point in debate.
Jim Allister is the only one pleased with what O'Dowd said I would think.
Jim Allister ,who I dont agree with is honest if nothing else. Can the rest say that?
Ha ha when Elliot called SF scum it was sure its only Tom,now that clown of a leader is boycotting because of a so what.Get real

Memory of the incident is a bit hazy, but if I remember rightly he was getting jeered by some SF supporters who he called the "scum of SF". Not right, but equally not the same as calling SF as a party "scum" (not to say that isn't what he truly thinks btw ;))
Twice the phrase "suck it up" has been used. Well, I am not a UUP member so am not in the position to suck anything; although I would like to thank you for the offer.
Is "suck it up" Sinn Fein's new "Ireland of equals"?
Everyday, the mask slips a little more.
The 'Ireland of Equals' is as genuine as Peter Robinson's talk of reaching out to Catholics.
'So what' accurately explains how unimportant the UUP are within the process of government in the North. The only way Nesbitt and his party are noticed is by either promoting sectarian politics i.e. the flags debacle or stunts like this. A fine contribution.

I saw that "suck it up" comment and knew straight away it must have been said by Lawnseed. Checked page 1 and of course I was correct. Lawnseed has a Stalinist vision of the future for the population of the current 26 counties. He uses that phrase towards the people of the Republic all the time. It sounds like the lawnseed element of the SF support wish to exert some revenge on a population they percieve as not being the SF interpretation of an Irish person or the SF interpretation of a republican.
Mike Nesbitt is a name that gives some interesting anagrams:

Which is the best?

It's called "reaching out". Official SF policy.

Any different to the DUP?
It's getting a bit stormy in that tea cup.
