I found this extremely disturbing and still do to be honest. Where is the accountability for Justice Carney? He as good as admitted he wasn't up to the job we are paying him to do. That was clear by his actions and frankly for me "sorry" doesn't cut it.

In the end we have to be glad that some sort of justice has prevailed but 3 years for what that animal did to a young girl and the subsequent denials and mental torture - it's just scandalous.
Imagine the mother/wife standing by him and all after the animal admitting it? I just cannot understand that either.

The law is a funny old game. The judge had no choice but to suspend the 9 years and allow bail because he knew that if he didnt this monster would have got off free in the appeal

If that is the case the law needs to be changed immediately. If the law is that fucked up then all involed are a bigger disgrace than I thought.

Just like you cannot understand, she more than likely does not understand his crime. The Catholic Church have been the 'model' for not understanding the plight of the abused or the abuser.

And what they did to their daughter afterwards - you can hear it in the Newstalk interview. Mental torture.  She says "They showed I was telling the truth". What a disturbed set of parents.
It must have been the meeting with the Taoiseach that got the ball rolling for today's news. Well done to all the Facebookers.
But what a disgrace last week.

The mother has referred to Fiona as "Daddy's little whore" FFS... what an equally twisted and sick individual!

Surely you're not suggesting that the Executive interfered with the Judiciary?!!!!! That caused huge problems in the past but I suppose that was in the days when people resigned when they got things wrong.

Whoever if anyone helped make this improved decision happen deserves credit.

She should also be locked up if that's the case.

Must say they looked like serious deadbeats. Even the biggest scumbags manage to find something other than trackie bottoms to wear to court.

The conduct of the Judge is a cause of concern here. But Fiona Doyle has provided a valuable service to others by proceeding with this, I'm sure she was inspired by other cases like Sophia McColgan.
