Surprised nobody has start talking about the Fitzgibbon getting underway earlier this week.
CIT caused a bit of a shock beating NUIG who will fancy their chances of retaining their title.

Is the Fitz cup round robin these days?
I saw some results during the week last week but it didn't seem like every team was playing. I'm particularly interested to see how my own alma-mater, DCU fare in their first year back in the competition since my own days in the college.

I thought the days of the Pat Hartnett, mature students playing was long gone, but I see Paul Kelly's name down for UL as well as somewhere where Paul Galvin was doing a fashion course in Dublin was able to play Sigerson.
Kelly must be well into his thirties, what sort of course might he be doing?
not sure what course hes doing but I wouldn't have thought it too unusual. PJ Ryan of Kilkenny was a blocklayer. He went back to college because he couldn't get any work. He did 2 years in Carlow doing some sports management course or other, and played Ryan cup while there.
I reckon we'll see more and more of this in the years ahead.
Kelly worked in the bank in Kilkenny as far as I know. Not sure if he still is or not, or what hes doing in college now.

Fitzgibbon Cup Roundup
Offaly and UL star Shane Dooley looks set to face at least a four-week suspension from all competitions after being handed a straight red card while in action during this afternoon's opening Ulster Bank Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final.
Dooley was issued the red card by Galway referee Alan Kelly after an off the ball incident in the 49th minute that rules him out of Saturday's all-Limerick decider against Limerick IT.
Four weeks is the minimum suspension handed out for a red card offence, but this can increase depending on the severity of the incident.
