Title: House Building Thread
Post by: balladmaker on July 27, 2010, 09:52:02 AM
Is anyone here currently or have just recently completed building a house in the north?

If so, I have a few general questions which you may be able to help with.

For example, suppliers and fitters of bison slabs, recommended roofing and electrical contractors etc. etc. etc.

It's always good to talk to people who are going through it or have recently done so.

Thanks in advance.

Built my own home, stressful times indeed.

Creagh Concrete for the bison slabs, good job, did most of the rest on the grip with local workers, saved a few quid that way

Keeping it local there Max  ;)

Creagh are dead on and can be negiotated with if you're doing the first floor as well.

Go solar to heat the water, good job IMO as I haven't burnt any oil since April this year and even on a clear day in the winter you'll get hot water out of it.
