Just to keep all the predictions in one place, tried trawling through the Horse Racing thread looking for tips on the big race, can't work out which races they are talking about.
This thread can be deleted after the race if anyone wants.
Anyway to start of, only caught the tail end of John McCricrick on 5live but he says a good each way bet is - Hello Bud at 50/1.
Comply or Die, has proved in the past he can last the distance and is a former winner!
get on each way
Pretty open race this year you could make a good case for about ten horses. I've restricted myself to 3 this year
The Package
Character Building
Cerium (as an outsider)
McCririck also said last night "only back each way if the horse is 33/1 or better"
Sean Grahams not putting prices up until 10am on website.
Invested 100 pennies straight, on Backstage, forecasted to start at 25/1

Mc Cririck is a tool.He must be getting good money from his sponsors to say that.
State of Play

Conna Castle
I've stuck a fiver on state of play and arbor supreme so everyone else may want to avoid them, they won't be winning.
Eric's Charm and Backstage(although having to carry both TF and my hopes should prove too much)

::) ::)
Hoping Dessie Hughes has a good day and backed both of his e/w, Vic Venturi & Black Apalachi. Both on the same big weight, but the winners of the last two Beecher Chases over this course and 1st and 2nd in a good prep race last time out at Fairyhouse.
My picks...
State Of Play 16/1 - 1pt e/w
Comply or Die 20/1 - 1pt e/w
Hello Bud 40/1 - 0.5pt e/w
Maljimar 40/1 - 0.5pt e/w
Ellerslie George 100/1 - 0.25pt e/w
i haven't had a winner on this race since West Tip way back in 1986, it's about time my luck changes today
Comply or Die 20 euro e/w i'll go for
Early tip for the Grand National. CREOSOTE 16/1 Very Good over fences.

McCririck is a f**king clown. ("You know nothing about racing John" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfPpBpDaSXE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfPpBpDaSXE))
Everything down to 3/1 should be backed e/w in my view and there's method in that madness.
Gone for Maljimar and Arbor Supreme today. Stick to horses under the 11st mark and ignore the French breds. Last year's winner Mon Mome defied both them trends but last year's race was a funny renewal. When Black Apalachi unseated at Bechers second time round nothing wanted to go on and they crawled until three out when there was still a plethora of horses still in contention.
i do AP every year, law of averages, he has to sometime. Dont Push It is his ride today - 20/1
Irish raptor, vic venturi, tricky trickster, state of play, character building.
With No Ruby for Big Fella thanks he is already out to 11's - Fingers crossed that its nothing too serious
Maljimar
Ballyholland
Tricky Trickster
Niche Market
Comply or Die & Ballyholland.
Pin sticker on Snowy Morning @ 14/1 and Backstage @ 25/1. Both e/w.

Arbor Supreme.
Nobody going for Priests Leap?
I thought it was Priests Lap so gave it a miss.
ffs that was some start :D
Paul Carberry had some race.
There should be a sniper taking out loose horses.
Backstage unseated. tr**p.
Brilliant. Don't mind losing to see McCoy winning.

i bet that McCoy 4 times before in the National & he didn't get halfway around the course >:(
Didn't win anything, but delighted to see McCoy win it, the icing on the cake of a phenomenal career.

;D ;D
£10 straight at 20/1 - Will take that
£50 in the back pocket for SB, had it in the sweep in work
had black apalache and push it both each way :)
wow just showed on bbc, 5k one punter put on the winner
Looked a brilliant ride, a case of the jockey dragging the last ounce of energy out of the horse to get there first.
In the race before, McCoy was riding a dodgy jumper called Rare Bob, a superb feat to get him into third place.
Fair play AP
IRELAND'S GREATEST EVER SPORTSMAN
They'll be dancing in St Ergnat's tonite :)
There's bookies in Lurgan have run out of money...
Paddy Power lost £5m reportedly. ;D
:D :D :D :D :D
fair play a.p.... had an each way
delighted for a.p... great race!
Best money Ive ever lost.
Most mutual respect and admiration for a winner I have seen. Absolutely Marvelous.
I'm still on a high, despite having watched the club play bloody awful in a subsidary league game. My own selections Black Aplachi (2nd e/w @ 14/1) and Vic Venturi (free bet as a result of the fall) did well. But it was the fact the oldest fella picked the Big Fella and both the wife and young lad picked Mc Coys mount, meant that once the three of them jumped the last I could declare to having backed the winner of the National ... Yahoooooo, elbow and all to come. The bet on the winner was only €5 e/w, but when you get 22/1 and the horse goes off at 10/ jf it is particularly sweet. Loving it :D
Congratulations A.P - a joy to watch
was driving past the bookies in Randlestown, place was packed out into the street with happy punters ready to collect on A.P's win. was pleased as fook when he came through. my wee girl picked the 5th placed horse, i'd got it at 40/1 :(
well done to hoof hearted. The rest of ye are aftertimers ;).
Happy for AP/ JP / johnjo ....
A technical question:
With King John's Castle not crossing the start line, is he regarded as a non-runner?
If not, have any of the larger bookies done the gesture of giving money back on KJC anyway?

If he comes under orders then you have lost your money

I'd be pretty certain VC would give you the stake back in the form of free bet. Given the race and the circumstances I would imagine it is one where Paddy Power is refunding. Your traditional bookmakers like Ladbrokes or small independents will most like stick to the official line and your money is gone!
