Good question ONeill,

The Jam
loads of 80's mod stuff including Purple Hearts, Lambrettas, Secret Affair
Sex Pistols
Loads of punk stuff
The Undertones
Horslips
Multiple trad sessions all over the country (willie clancy music school, AI Fleadhs etc)

I could go on and on but will stop there...  :)

I love a lot of rock from the 70's .Three bands that I think were really undereated are Free, Lynyrd Skynyrd and early zz Top.All 3 are known for big anthems that made it big , but had many more geat songs that remain largely undiscovred.

There were some great bands in Dublin in the 80s, last time we had no money ...

Something Happens
A House
The Gorehounds
The Stars of Heaven
The Golden Horde

and some lesser known outfits that could/should have made it:

The Outpatients
Mangled Ferret
Cypress Mine (Cork-based)
3355409s (Cork-based again)
Under the Wobbly Ashtray  :P

O'Neil you are truly the king of WUM's I hope that you list is indeed a wind up and not a sample of your record collection. If it is from your own personal archive I'm glad you decided to follow football in such an enthusiastic fashion. It just shows how important where you born is in relation to future development.

My own choice of music from the 70/80s

Horslips
Thin Lizzy
Planxty
Moving Hearts
De Dannan
Undertones
Pistols
Springsteen
Neil young
Cash(he never went away you know)

Generational choice I know but what the heck!
