The new Dallas Cowboys Stadium will offer $90 pizzas

The colossal new Dallas Cowboys Stadium is living proof that everything is bigger in Texas. The menu in the luxury suites proves that things there are more expensive too.
Those enjoying a Cowboys game from a luxury suite at the new stadium will have to shell out $90 for pizza and $66 for a 12-pack of domestic beer, reports Steven Sipple of the Lincoln Journal World. Ninety bucks for pizza? That's almost as much of a rip-off as Roy Williams.
It costs $800,000 per year to lease one of those luxury suites, a hefty sum that doesn't include game tickets. On the bright side, the stadium's official Web site says that "having your company's name on a suite makes an important statement about your success" and can help make an impression on clients. (Namely that they're paying you way too much money.)
As for the $90 pizza, that's the cost for a plain pizza. No word on how much each topping costs but, suffice it to say, if you're a fan of pepperoni you may want to consider refinancing your mortgage before you head down to watch the Cowboys.
I wish they had some healthy options when in came to food in the stadium..

Apart from anything else, the hot dogs at Croke Park are possibly the most horrible tasting things I've ever eaten in my life.

Children love the novelty of buying hot dogs at a match. There's nothing novel about going to a shopping centre - although there might be in your Dickensian world view ;)

It must be a Celtic Tiger thing that people are embarrassed to bring sandwiches to a match anymore.
Anytime I travelled with the auld lad to an away game, two lots were brought. You ate out of the boot when you parked up and brought the tin-foiled wrapped sambos and fizzy orange to the game. If it was an All-Ireland the auld lad would get Mars bars at half-time. Apart from that you didn't ask.
I do the same these days(which raised eye-brows last time in Croker) and the kids are happy with that.

Not the ones I know, all I know is if I bring the nephews to a shop and listened to them it would cost me a fortune, however I simply tell them they're not getting any shit toys that will break before their home and don't even think about craving at me and it works fine, they dont. Same with hotdogs in Croke park. 12 euro is a rip off but it's mad to suggest people have no choice, it's not Croke Parks problem if someone can't control their kids or can't watch a game without the need to eat and is too good to bring something in with them.
I had to buy 4 of them - 48 euro wasnt too bad - this is the bankrupt South after all.

No kids myself but just had friends staying last night who have three kids all under the age of six. How do they cope? Total respect to anyone with kids. The place was like a bomb site after they had left. The kids were only awake in the house for about 4 hours and I have just spent the last four hours cleaning up after them.

I'm sure Freud would come up with some crap about the parents of today resenting the fact that their parents denied them so many treats and now we lavish stuff on our kids to make up for the shortcomings of our own childhood. He probably would have thrown something in too about wanting to ride some queer one too when we were three and a half...... he seemed to manage to get around to that for most topics.

I am there to enjoy the matches, I will drink no more than two pints before a game after watching people in the seats and stands barely able to stand up after paying to get in to games, that makes no sense to me. I would never eat a hot dog much less pay over 12 euro for one, that is madness.
I agree with Jim, even on AIF day in 02 we packed for the day, we had sandwiches, beer, wine and all sorts of cheeses and fruits etc, it saved us a fortune and I was weaned on sandwiches going to games since 1974 and see no point in changing now even if it is considered culchire or gauche or whatever. Oh, I forgot the tae we took as well, a gallon of the stuff to wash down the food. ;D

I agree with Jim, even on AIF day in 02 we packed for the day, we had sandwiches, beer, wine and all sorts of cheeses and fruits etc, it saved us a fortune and I was weaned on sandwiches going to games since 1974 and see no point in changing now even if it is considered culchire or gauche or whatever. Oh, I forgot the tae we took as well, a gallon of the stuff to wash down the food. ;D

I noticed too and let it go. I'd like to point out that in our car we had the old humble sliced cheese in the sandwiches and not "all sorts". As for wine? wine was "Black Tower" and was limited to Christmas dinner.
Auld buck never had pints on the day of a game and neither do I. You are going to see the game, not drink. It was a dark day when the GAA started peddling liquour in Croker.

(I'd recommend foreigners to any GAA head - they have none of the prejudices about the GAA that many Irish people have, so it's easy to fill their heads with pro-GAA nonsense ;D)
