@ 9:00 PM Deadliest Warrior
IRA vs. Taliban
The Taliban - deadly extremists battling in the mountains of Afghanistan, versus the I.R.A. - elusive, hard-hitting masters of Ireland's urban jungles. It's a battle to the death, between two lethal guerilla warriors, armed to the teeth with flamethrowers, rocket launchers, carbines, mines and a devastating home-made bombs.
American TV channel Spike is having a virtual battle between the IRA and the Taliban. What can you say only ' For F u c k Sake' :D
As Harry Hill would say, "there's only 1 way to find out"................
I'd say it would all be down to the referee on the day - having the game at home would be a big advantage. :D
The Taleban are still undefeated

so is the IRA
The IRA lost the civil war or was that a challenge match and not counted?
If it was played in heat like today you would fancy the taliban

if it was paddy russell- he would definately favour the taliban
It starts in 2 1/2 hours from now I will let you know the setup and winner
In a close race the IRA beats the Taliban.
The show compared each groups weapons with the deadly force each would inflict.
IRA Taliban
1) Flamethrower RPG Edge - Taliban
2) Remote Nail Bomb Landmine Edge - IRA
3) Armalite 15 AK47 Edge - IRA
4) Slingshot Bayonet Edge - Taliban
5 on 5 in a urban/junkyard setting IRA 1 survivor Taliban 0 survivors
The show uses computer programs and weapon experts to determine results.

From an entertainment view the show sucks, I did like the way they measured the different weapons.

predictable. ::)
Gift.
Yawn....
Predictable. ::)
Sad, but at least you made me smile. ;)
The show in its infancy definitely started off well when it was one warrior against another. Ninja, gladiator, Viking, Samurai - it was all good.
Then it went down hill with Yakuza vrs Mafia and hit a new low with this one.

Its f**king hilariously bad,
I have never witnessed anything as stupid...
It could only be American!
does it count as a win if the ira gains 81.25% of the battlefield?
that was a shocker of a programme indeed, but funny as well
I for one found it very informative, never knew that black widow catapult could come in handy if the Taleban decide to attack with rpg's and ak47's ::)
Did anyone notice the state of the art computer simulation programme was an excel workbook?
I was watching Charlie Brooker's You Have Been Watching on Channel 4 tonight. Basically a comedical look at television, with a panel of celebrities. Tonight one of the shows they were talking about was Deadliest Warriors and having a right old laugh about it. They then showed several fights and asked the panel to vote on who they picked would win. To my surprise, they showed The IRA v The Taliban. Two of the celebrities said The Tabiban, but Rufus Hound said he was keeping it British and voting for The IRA! :D
I expect a few complaints tomorrow though.
Season 2 started last night – but as a preface they brought back all the season 1 winners to find out who the overall champion was
Split into Ancient Warriors and Modern Day Warriors
Ancient Warriors final was Spartan vs Samurai
Modern Warriors final was The Russian Spetsnaz vs the IRA
It was the most one-sided battle of all so far – with the Spetsnaz winning over 75% of all the simulated "battles"
They gave the IRA two more weapons because in Season one the Spetsnaz had 6 and the IRA only had four - they gave them a Webley revolver and the HK G3 Sniper rifle
Flame Throwers and Catapults and Scottish weapons specialists........
Only in America.

So we part of the team now are we ::) ;) :D
Was this ever televised on bravo? Seen almost every other episode, but never this one.
HS, the few episodes i seen had "experts" explaining why one side would win, like in the Spartan one some eejit was trying to explain why a spear was better than a sword, and that sort of crap. Is it in the same in this episode? That's the part I want to see.
They did have "experts"
IRA team: Skoti Collins (IRA Descendant (Michael Collins' grand-nephew)/Historian), Peter Crowe (IRA Weapons Expert), Unknown explosives expert (identity classified)
IRA weapons: LPO-50 Flamethrower, Nail Bomb, AR-15 ArmaLite, Slingshot
Taliban team: Fahim Fazli (former Mujahideen Freedom Fighter), Alex Sami (Counter-Terrorism Specialist)
Taliban weapons: RPG-7 Rocket Launcher, PMN Mine, AK-47 Assault Rifle, Bayonet
