Bitter cold, gale force winds, driving rain, or we insane expecting teams to play Gaelic Football in November and spectators to turn out and watch.
Do any county boards run their leagues off from say april- july, then have championship august/september??
that way once you get put out of the championship your season ends. I think this would work in alot of counties.
In Div 1 in antrim some teams have 4 games left!!! this is after beginning to train in January. Too much.

Easy Solution:
Play all championship games to a conclusion. If one extra time does not work allow two extra periods, with three extra subs. All panels nowdays consist of 30 players.
No no no - we can't abolish replays, a vital part of the romance of the GAA. Some of the greatest legends, myths, memories and sources of barstool banter are the great replay series. I'd go so far as to say the GAA landscape would look different now if Meath-Dublin 1991 had never happened. Meath-Kildare x 3 in 1997 produced the best game of football I ever saw. People around home still talk about a legendary multiple-replay championship rivalry between Louth and Meath through the fifties. Don't let a crowd of administration-obsessed philistines gouge the romance out of the games for the sake of a neat-looking fixture list.
There are too many competitions and too much football being played. Get serious about managing the number of teams underage players can belong to. Prioritise club fixtures, if we really mean what we spout about the club being the life blood of the GAA. If championships have to be extended into the winter months, let it be the inter-county ones.
I always found it strange, weather wise we have nothing to worry about compared to Canada or parts of North America who play games in sub-zero conditions and the stadiums are still full. The Canadian rugby team that came over to play at week have greater obstructions to getting to games & playing in weather which we would only dream about here. I cant stand listening to people who moan about going to league games in winter because of the weather when you look at the boys in Wisconsin in snow covered stands with their shirts off roaring on their team.
if you love your game conditions are another obstacle but nothing else and you get over it.
Could be worse, the under 11's and 12's championship finals could be played on November weekends in the freezing cold. Not bad when there only two teams in the competition!!! Oh, almost forget, the 11's and 12's League finals were played in October.
