Any managerial news for 2020?
Haven't heard any yet but I heard there's vacancies in Killeshin, O'Dempseys, Annanough and Ballylinan.
Ballylinan vacant. Niall Carew gone as coach with Naas. He's on a fair gravy train.
Joe Higgins new manager at Joseph's.
I'd imagine there's a vacancy in Courtwood now that Kinsella is new U-20 manager.
He's doing both as Under-20 is early this year and won't clash
Karl O Dwyer to Killeshin. Heading Pat Ryan to O'Dempseys and possible Mick Lillis and Ballylinan connection also.

Vacancy in the Heath also. Any story in Padraig Clancy back to Ballyroan Abbey? Surely there's 1 big push with a bit of luck to be targeting getting near a county final.
Clancy to Ballyroan confirmed. Show me the moneyyyyyyyyy
Francis Finn is the new manager of O'dempsey's with Sean Cotter as coach/trainer.
Brian Breen as S and C. Big year for us ahead now. Best of luck to the lads.

Seem to be going in the right direction ok. Probably disappointed about last year and need a big showing this year
Malachy gone to Rhode
Best of luck Malachy he will do well in Rhode.
Huge loss for Portlaoise and Laois. One of the few top managers inside the county. Rhode won't be an easy job either, as they don't seem to be as strong as previous years and I'm not sure they have much coming through underage. Best of luck to Malachy all the same.
Dublin need a new one

How is he a loss? Only ever managed portlaoise and won as expected. Even niall rigney in his first football job was able to win with portlaoise so if he leaves is he a loss to portlaoise and laois?

Malachy's teams were far more dominant in Laois than what Rigney did with Portlaoise this year, barely scraping over the line in a lot of games. Portlaoise were capable of genuinely challenging for Leinster's when he was over them as well.

well I'd imagine he wont be lost to either laois or portlaoise and will come back a better manager for managing Rhode...they are lucky to get him

I agree with you Silkyskillssunshine also agree he will be all the better for the experience, someone well capable of stepping up to Inter County at some point.

malachy had a better squad of players. might have been capable of challenging but never won it? i agree rigney not the man either but you cant compare both due to the squads
Well he has to get out of the county didn't he?
Rigney gone also from portlaoise
Heard today the Camross hurling job has been offered to Rigney

He might be more suited to hurling.
On the football side I think the following are confirmed;
O'Dempseys - Francis Finn
Killeshin - Karl O'Dwyer
Rosenallis - Paddy Dunne
Ballyroan Abbey - Pauric Clancy
St Josephs - Joe Higgins
Courtwood - Eddie Kinsella
Portarlington - Martin Murphy
Ballylinan - Mick Lillis
Leaving Emo, Graigue, Ballyfin, Arles Killeen, Arles Kilcruise, Portlaoise, The Heath and Stradbally who I haven't heard as yet.
I heard last night that Donie Brennan is going to be Arles/Killeen player manager. Seems a bit far fetched as playing and managing are both tough gigs on their own let alone trying to do both. But possible I suppose given his coaching pedigree.

Those are the ones I haven't heard of as yet. They may all have managers for all I know.
Why's that?
money is it?
Billy o'loughlin has taken over graiguecullen. Arles kilcruise have Jimmy McDonald
Billy O Loughlin and Graiguecullen that's some combo #volatile
I wouldn't be believing much of the second last post anyways
Hugh Kenny staying at Kileen. They should have a good league campaign with the two Kingstons available all year.

Port looking for a high profile manager I hear ...and have been for weeks. High profile is pricey though...
A Laois senior club football manager is about as easy a job a man can get in sport. There are Zero expectation for silverware. A knockout spot is looked upon as a great year. There's about four teams who in all truth are average intermediate teams and every other team is worse than they were five years ago bar Port. Money for old rope
Portlaoise (final every year)
3-4 teams aim for a final and the lose of flop on the way
6-8 teams aim for a semi final and lose or flop on the way
The rest hope to draw each other in the first round and get a win..#bonusterritory

I think it's an investment that would bear fruit if the right man could be got. I know you think otherwise PK but Portlaoise look susceptible to me, and Port have the makings of a very good side.
Id love to know your sources,i believe port have already started back with martin murphy

i agree portlaoise are very susceptible, I just think we are not as bad as portrayed but would say Port will make a serious effort to win it next year along with a couple more.

I can gaurentee he was approached and the person who said it to him is definitely a Port official, whether he did it off his own back or not I dont know....in any case its neither here nor there, im just saying I know it happened.
Not exactly if you asked jim gavin to be next portlaois manager, does that mean he was approached by the portlaois club

If i was an official with some power within the club, then yes the feelers would be put out this way.The commitee would hardly knock on his door and speak in unison to him.
In any case Im bored of this conversation, Im only telling it as it is as I was told by
the manager in question. I couldnt give a fiddlers who ports manager is.

Senior Hurling Management Teams 2020 -
Rathdowney Errill - John Delaney, Enda Meagher, Niall Delaney
Borris Kilcotton - Ciaran Comerford, Trevor Moore, Eoin Bergin
Camross - Tommy Delaney, Damien Keenan, Fran Hogan
Clough Ballacolla - Declan Laffan (Loughmore, Tipperary)
Castletown - Martin Carey (Young Irelands, Kilkenny)
Abbeyleix - Lorcan Mahoney
Ballinakill - Jimmy Walsh
Rosenallis - Brian Troy (Lusmagh, Offaly )
Ballinakill and Borris/Kilcotton have brilliant management teams.
Who is with Jimmy Walsh in Ballinakill Merman? I know BK have an S&C in as well not sure of his name,
Clough Ballacolla also have an S&C guy on board

Eamon Jackman and Seamus Dwyer are assisting Walsh, as far as I know anyway.
I think Camross have an excellent team too actually; they'll be 'fun' to watch on the sideline this year.
It's brilliant to see so many internal management teams. Expenses saved can be directed into facilities or resources that should yield long-term benefits.
Yes good to see clubs trusting and going for their own young coaches, who are interested in progression like Borris Kilcotton, Ballinakill, RE, etc
Camross gone old school alright, hopefully we won't be discussing them here for adverse reasons later in year!
That has basically been the Ballinakill management team for the last 10 years!

Not fully up to date with all those names listed, just wondering what have those management teams won?
Have not heard of many changes yet for 2021, presume Clough Ballacolla and Borris Kilcotton are remaining with their management teams, I see on FB today where Rathdowney Errill have made an interesting appointment with soccer coach Shane Keegan taking over with Kevin 'rebel' Power from Johnstown as his coach
I believe Ballinakill have a new man in place also, the rest staying the same, except for Camross, no white smoke leaked from the mountain yet ?
