Anybody remember that 'spanish gold' stuff, it was quite the business alright.

Maybe I'm dreaming but was that the stringy stuff that looked a packet of roll your own tobacco?
Yep that's it.

Curly wurly were at least a foot long back in the 80's
Cadburys Cream egg were the size of an duck  egg .

Yorkies, if you had one you had just made your communion or had come into money .
This is true!

I remember actually making my communion and taking the money to buy sweets. We used to get them in quarters (as in quarter pounds), and I went in and asked for a pound of sweets. I meant weight wise, but the witch behind the counter made me feel that bad I had to pretend I'd made a mistake, and obviously   had meant a pounds worth (which was only a wee bit over a quarter. Was rippin).
Brandyballs, or mixed balls, of which the favourite was the butter ones, btw! Good times...

Gold

Refreshers, Sherbert Dip Daps and Strawberry Sherberts were magic

Strawberry Jawbreakers hit the spot(for 10 seconds)

the 2p Bubbly's were nice 2, if a bit expensive

Mint or Orange Clubs or a Penguin was good for your break--never liked Wagon Wheels
"Cheeky Charlie McKenna..."

Not actually sweets, but hey, we are reminiscing- space raider crips for 10p were delish

Yes I Would

Cheesies and Meanies were an old favourite as well. Open to correction but think they were 5 p a bag at one stage.
The old 10p mix-up was also worth every penny

Secret bars were class.
Think you could be right LL.
There was a petition a while back to bring them back in the same way they took Wispa's back for a limited period, seems to be to no avail......
