seriously though, I'm not happy about this at all, what's the reason?

Bogball XV

Maybe, but it's no reason to censor language, it's something I've always liked about irish newspapers as opposed to their british counterparts, they're not scared to write b a  s  t a r d  or  f u c k whereas the brits write b**tard, f**k or laughably s**t.  Crude language isn't going to get anyone in bother, I can't see any libel suit coming off that, many great writers are fond of reflecting the reality of everyday speak via such language, this is a rather misguided attempt at cleaning up the board imo.

I think it makes little to no difference - if I want to call you a ****, I'm sure you'll understand that I'm not calling you a cant, the asteriks mean very little as you're still getting the point across.

Or just use alternatives you pedantic little pissflap ;)

RedandGreenSniper

I think the Board are 100% right. No need to be using such expletive language.
Words like'gosh' or 'sugar' will suffice when you are amazed or angry.
The insitance of Irish people to use the f word at every opportunity is a f**king joke
