I still can't remember the Four of us song but it had the brilliant line  "the most fun that I've had so far is what goes on in the back of my car".  I gotta a job??  Remember it was the late 80s so having a job was a lot of fun.

Best cover version by an Irish band was "Borderline" by Something Happens.  Memories of bombing up to Belfast with that song blarring out.

QuoteHow can I miss you? (if you won't go away) - Under the Wobbly Ashtray

Get me drunk and I'll sing it again!

I wanna hurt, I wanna cry
I wanna feel like I wanna die
I wanna be in misery
But you're always here with me

Listen to me baby, to what's a guy's gotta sayyyyyyyy
How can I miss you, if you won't go awayyyyyyyyyyy

For shame Billy - no Horslips. Hang the head.

1. Horslips - I'll be waiting
2. Undertones - Teenage Kicks
3. Zen Alligators - You make my day
4. Host - Witness Stand
5. Larry Cunningham - Among the Wicklow Hills
6. Horslips - Johnny's Wedding
7. Lizzy - Dancing in the moonlight
8. Christy Moore - Nancy Spain
9. The Bogmen - Rock around the clock
10. Dermot Morgan - Thank you very much Mr. Eastwood

I would be a big 4 of Us fan but Mary wouldnt even get into my top 5 4 of Us songs!!!....they had some really brilliant stuff and that "Songs for the Tempted" album is a classic.

Another classic Irsh tune no one has mentioned yet is "The Rocks of Bawn"......Paul Brady and Liam Óg Ó Floinn.....superb.

For me, he's never bettered this:

This is the 'Bringing it all Back Home' version with Donal (keep it in your pants) Lunny.  For pure rage however, you'd need to see the Self Aid version (which I can't find).

Denn Forever

A brilliant song but I can't remember the name was Light a Big Fire's song about Ann Lovett.  Back in those Talliban like days of the Early 80s.

I remember LABF alright, and saw them several times, but never really rated them.  They had a good song that went 'You can love a woman, but you can't be friends ...'.  I don't remember the Ann Lovett song though.
