Anyone know much about greyhound racing and in particular what big races would be televised on RTE during the year and what dates would they be on? Do Sky/Setanta show any of the big big races? Cheers.

Seanie,

RTE show the final of the Irish Derby and the final of the Irish oaks, both from Shelbourne Park. Last year they also showed the final of the Champion Stakes from Shelbourne also. There is a weekly magazine type programme on TG4 called Greyhound View whcih rounds up the action week by week.

Sky show a meeting nearly every week from spring to Autumn. Normally on a Tuesday, except for the English and Scottish Derby finals which are shown on a Saturday night. Tonight is the final of the English Grand National from Wimbledon live on Sky from 8pm, there is some very good racing tonight as some of the best Irish dogs are over in preperation for the upcoming English Derby.
