That's 2 in 3 years for the Irish. It completely escaped my mind this year. Normally I'd try to read at least 3 of the nominess. I hope it's better than Banville's effort 2 years ago. Bored me rigid.

Why do critics tthink that books that are "unflinching" and about sad things are automatically good literature!  That description would turn me away from reading that book.  Angela's ashes all over again.
