Is anyone on here using that google+ yet?

yes

Is it any good?

It's good if a little rough around the edges at the moment. I'm not sure I need another social network in my life but I think the hangout feature is very interesting.

There are plenty out there.  I tried twitter there for a few months but I quickly got bored with it.

It's in Beta at the moment with a few bugs and not classed as an acceptable quality for release to everyone.
They did the same with Gmail too. Better to limit to a small amount of users while it is optimised and the bugs ironed out, than release it too the general public and get slated.

Alot of Tech reviews I've read on it have all been positive.

But why bring out an iPhone app for it. Looks like it's ready to go. I download the app, sign up and then be told to come back when it's ready or look for an invite. Now I feel, well f**k that for a waste of time.

It probably gives the 10 million or so users it currently has the full experience.
They get feedback and makes changes before a full release with the issues ironed out.

Because there is approx 18 million people in the trial at the moment and some of them want to be able to access it from their mobile. The only was to get an app (officially) on your iPhone is through the app store.

If you hadn't a Facebook or Twitter account would you download an app for them?
